Dr. SCHENCK'S PULMONIC SYRUP. This great medicine cured Dr. J. II. ScHEXCK, the Proprietor, of Pulmonary Con sumption, when it had assumed its most form idable aspect, and when speedy death ap peared to be inevitable. His phys.cians pro nounced his asc incurable, when he com menced the use of this simple but powerful remedy. His health was restored in a very short time, and no return of the disease has been apprehended fur all the ejmptoms quickly disappeared, and his present weight is more than two hundred pounds. Since his recovery, he has devoted his at tention exclusively to the cure of Consump tion, and the diseases which are usually complicated with it, and the cures effected by his medicines have been very numerous and truly wonderful. Dr. Sciiexck makes professional visits to Eeveral of the larger cities weekly, where he has a large concourse of patients, and it is truly astonishing to see poor consumptives that have to be lifted out of their carriages, and in a few months healthy, robust persons. Da. SCHENCK'S PULMONIC SYRUP, SEAWEED TON IC, and MANDRAKE PILLS are general ly all required in curing Consumption. Full directions accompany each, so that any one can take them without seeing Dr. Sciienck, but when it is convenient it is best to seeJ him. He gives advice free, but for a thor ough examination with his Respiroiceter his fee is three dollars. Please observe, when purchasing, that the two likenesses of the Doctor o::e when in the last stage of Consumption, and the other as he now is, in pecfect health are on the Government stamp. June 27, 18G7 Tub peculiar taint or infection which mc call Scrofclv lurks in the constitutions of ... v r inuiutuucs or men. it If either produces or is t!i t i i... .. IVcLIcd, vitiated state iHif tho Mood, wherein ; jFf.competcnt to sustain ' tcthe vital forces in their ASSSt vigorous action, .and pleaves the svsteni to falPinto disorder and decay. The scrofulous contamination is va riously caused by .mercurial disease, low living, disordered dipestion from unhealthy food, impure air, filth and filthy habits, the depressing vices, anj, jiIhjvc all, ly the venereal infection. -Whatever be its origin, it is hereditary in the constitution, descending "from parents to children ur.to the third and fourth generation indeed, it seems to be the rod of Him who says, 44 1 will visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their children." The diseases it originates take various names, according to the organs it attacks. In the lungs, Scrofula produces tubercles, and finally Consumption; in the glands, swellings which suppurcte and be come ulcerous fores ; in the stomach and bowels, derangements wluch produce indi gestion, dyspepsia, and liver complaints ; on the skin, eruptive and cutaneous nflcctions. These, all having the same origin, require the same remedy, viz., purifieation and invigora tion of the blood. Purify the blood, and these dangerous distempers leave 3ou. With feeble, foul, or corrupted blood, you cannot have health; with that 44 life of the llesh" healthy, you cannot have scrofulous disease. Aycrs Sarsaparilla is compounded from the most effectual nntt dotcs that medical science has discovered for this afflicting distemper, and for the cure of the disorders it entails. That it is fur supe rior to any other remedy yet devised, is known by all who have given it a trial. That it does combine virtues truly extraordinary in their effect upon this class of complaints, is indisputably proven by the great multitude of publicly known and remarkable cures it has made of the following diseases : King's Evil, or Glandular Swellings, Tumors, Eruptions, Pimples, Blotches and Sores, Erysipelas, Rose or St Anthony's Fire, Salt Rheum, Scald Head, Coughs from tuberculous deposits in tho lungs, White Swellings,, Debility, Dropsy, Neuralgia, Dyspepsia or Indigestion, Syphilis and Syphilitic Infections, Mercurial Diseases, Femile Weaknesses, and, indeed, the whole series of complaints that arise from impurity of the blood. Minute reports of individual cases may be found in Avek's America's Almanac, which is furnished to the druggists for gratuitous distribution, wherein may bo learned the directions for its use, andome of the remarkable cures which it has made when all other remedies l;ad failed to afford relief. Those cases arc purposely taken from nil sections of the country, in order that every reader may have access to some one who can speak to him of its benefits from personal experience. Scrofula depresses the vital energies, and thus leaves its victims far more subject to disease and its fatal results than arc healthy constitutions. Hence it tends to shorten, and does greatly shorten, the average duration of human life. The vast importance of these considerations has led us to spend years in perfecting a remedy which is adequate to its cure. This we now offer to the public under the name of A yea's SAASArABiLLA, although it is composed of ingredients, some of w hich exceed the best of SSarsapariUa in alterative power. 15y its aid you may protect yourself from the Fuffer ing and danger of these disorders. Purge out the foul corruptions that rot and fester in the blood, purge out the causes of disease, nnd vigorous health will follow. By its pecu liar virtues this remedy stimulates the vital functions, and thus expels the distempers which lurk within the system or burst out on any part of it. Wc know the public have been deceived by many coniioundj of Xarsaparilla, that promised much nnd did nothing; but they wilt neither be deceived nor disappointed in this. Its virtues have been proven by abun dant trial, and there remains no question of its surpassing excellence for the cure of tho afflicting diseases it is intended to reach. Although under the same name, it is a very different medicine from any other which has Wen before the people, nnd is far more ef fectual than nny other which has ever been available to them. AYER'S CHERRY PECTORAL, Tho World's Groat Remedy for Coughs, Colds, Incipient Con- -sumption, and for tpo relief of Consump ti ve patients in advanced stages of tho disease ' This has been so long used and so uni versally known, that wc need do no more than assure the public that its quality is kept up to the best it ever has been, and that it may be relied on to do all it has ever done.
