THE UNION PACIFIC RAIL ROAD CO. Are now constructing a Railroad from OMAHA, NEBRASKA, "westward towards the Pacific Ocean, mak ing with its connections an unbroken line AOEOSS THE CONTINENT. The Comply now offer a limited amount of their FIRST MORTGAGE BOADS having thirty years to run, and bearing an nual intcrctt, payable on the first day of Jan uary and July," in the City of New York, at the rate of SIX PER CENT. IN GOLD, AT Nicety Cents on the Dollar. This raid was completed from Omaha 305 rniies vrc?t on the 1st of January, 1607, and fully equipped, and trains arc regularly 'running over it. The Company has now on hand sufficient iron, ties, ec , to finish the Remaining portion to the eastern base of the Rocky Mountains, 212 wiles, which is under 'contract to be done September 1st of thi? year, and it is expected that the entire road will be in running order from Omaha to its! western connection with the Central Pacific,! now being rapidly Luilt eastward from Sac-! rawento, Cal., during 1670. MEANS OF TltK OOMI'ANY. Estimating the distance to be built by the1 Union iVeific lo be 1,565 miley, the. United States Government issues its Six per cent. Thirty-year Uonds to the Company as the road is fiimh'ed t the average rate of nbout ,230 per mile, amounting to $14,208,000 The Company is also permitted to issue itsownFirrt Mortgage Bonds to an equal amount, and at the same lime, which by special Act of Congress are made a First Mortgage on the entire line, the bonds of the United States bi in g subordinate to them. The Government makes a donation of 12, 600 acres of land to the mile, amounting to 20,032,000 acres, estimated tube worth $30, HX),000,rpaking the total resource?, exclusive of the capital, 118,416,000; but the full volue of the, lands cannot now be realized. The authorized C ipit.il Stock of the Com pany is one hundred million dollars, of which rive millions have already been paid in, and of which it is not tupposed that more than twenty-fire millions at most will be required. The cost of the road is estimated by com petent engineers to be about one hundred million dollars, exclusive of equipment. rnosrECTS for business. The railroad connection between Omaha and the east is now complete, and the earn ing of the Union Pacific on the sections al ready finished for the first two weeks in May were 113.000. These sectional earnings as the road progresses will much more than pay the interest on the Companies bondp, and the through business over ihe only line of rail road between the Atiantic and Pacific must be immense. VALUE AND SECTIUTY OF THE BONDS. The Company respectfully submit, that ihe above statements of facts fully demon strates the security of their Bonds and as ad ditional proof they would suggest that the Bonds now .offered arc less than ten million dollars on 517 miles of road, on which over twenty million dollars have already been ex pended ; on C."i0 miles of this road" the cars are noiv running, and the remaining 157 miles nre nearly completed. At the prcstut rte cf premium on go!d thc.-e londs pay an annual intercut cn the present cott of nine ri:n CENT., and it is believed that on the completion cf the r aj, like the Govcrr.ir.ent Bji.dt they will go above par. The Company intend to sell but a limited amount at tne present low rate, and retain the right to advance the price at their option. Subscriptions will be received in New York by the Co.ti.etal National Bank, No. 7 Nassau St, Clark, Dodge & Co., Bankers, 51 Wall St., Jonx J. Cisco & Son, Bankers. No. .13 Wj.I1 St., and by BANKS and BANKERS generally through out the United Stiles, of whom iiiapsandde- scr ntive pamphlets may te obtained. They will also te-tent by mail from the Compa ny's Oflicc, No. 20 Ni3U Street, New York, on application. Subscribers will se lect their own Agents in whom they have confidence, who alone will be responsible lo them for the safe delivery of the bonds. JOHN J. CISCO, Treasurer, amw roitK.
