Scrofula, or King's Evil, is a constitutional disease, a corruption of tho blood, by which this fluid becomes vitiated, weak, and poor. Being in the circulation, it pervades the whole body, and may burst out in disease on any part of it. No organ is free from its attacks, nor is there one which it may not destroy. The scrofulous taint is variously caused by mercurial disease, low livinjr, disordered or unhealthy food, impure air, filth, and filthy habits, the lcprc.sinjj vires, and, 'above all, by the venereal infection. "Whatever be its oripin, it is hereditary in the constitution, descending "from parents to children unto the thud and fourth rcncralion ; " indeed, it fccms to be the rod of ilim who says, " I will visit the iniquities uf the fathers upon their children." Its effects commence by deposition from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and imcrnal organs, is termed tubercle;; in the glands, swellings; and on the tttrihre, eruptions o: rores. This foul eomip ti.i.i, which ponders in the blood, depresses ti-e cneri?? of life, so that fcrofulous constitutions rot on'v suffer from scrofulous complaints, but ;Vv h.i'vc far less power to withstand the attaiks of o:h(T diseases: con-cquently, vast numbers ucrish bv disorders whi- h, although not serofu 'ous ii'their natu.-e are stiil rendered fatal by hi taint i.i the system. Most cf the consump tion which decimates the human family has ita origin directly in this scrofulous contamination ; r.'.id many destructive diseases of the liver, kid ..icys, brain, and, indeed, of all the organs, aruc from or arc aggravn'ed by the same cause. One quarter of ail our people are scrofulous ; s'icir persons arc invaded by this lurking infec tion, and their health is undermined by it. To cleanse it from the system we must renovate the Mood by an alterative, medicine, and invigorate it by healthy food and exercise. Such a medi ans wc supply in i AYEB'S Compound Extract of Saraiparilla, the n:o-;t effectual remedy which the medical xkill of our times ran devise fortius every-wherta prevailing and fatal maladv. It is combined horn tho mo't active rcmcdiais that have been di. ovcred for the expurgation of ibis foul disor der f.o-n the blood, and the rescue of the sys tem from its destructive consequences. Hence it should hi employed for the cure of not only scrofula, but also "those other affections which ari?e from it, such as EnurTivc and Siux Dis eases, St. Anthony's Fire, Ro3E, or Ert sirukAS, PiMrms, I'cstules, Blotches, B la ins and Uoils, Tumors, Ti:tteu, and Salt Ruci-m, Scald Head, Ringworm, Rheumatism, Syphilitic and Mercurial Diseases, Dropsy, Dysi'eisia, Debility-, and, indeed, all Complaints arising prom Vitiated or Impure Blood. The popular belief in " impurity of the Hood" is founded in tni.h, for scrofula is a degeneration of the blood. The particular puqosc and virtue of this Sarsa parilla is lo purify and regenerate this vital fluid, without which sound health is impossible in contaminated constitutions. Ayefs Cathartic Pills, FOR ALL THE PURPOSES OF A FAMILY PHYSIO, are so composed that disease within the rango of their action can rarely withstand or evade thorn. Their penetrating properties search, and cleanse, and invigorate every portion of the human or ganism, correcting its diseased action, and restor ing its healthy vitalities. As a consequence of these properties, the invalid who is bowed down with pain or physical debility is astonished to find his health or energy restored by a remedy at once so simple and inviting. . Xot only do they cure the every-day com plaints of every body, but also many formidable anil dangeitms'diseases. The agent below named is pleased to furnish gratis my American Alma nac, containing certificates of their cures, and directions for their use in the following com plaints : Coslivcncss, Heartburn, Headache aris ing from a disordered Stomach, Nausea, Indiges tion, Pain in and lilorhid Inaction of the BoiceU, Flatulency, Loss or Appetite, Jaundice, and other kindred complaints, arising from a low state Of the body or obstruction of its functions. Ayer's Cherry Pectoral; TOR THE RAPID CURE Or Coigns, Colds, Influenza, Hoarseness, Croup, Bronchitis, Incipient Consump tion, and for tho relief of Consumptive Patients in advanced Gfoges of tho di case. So wide is the field of its usefulness, and so numerous are the eases of its cures, thai almost every section of country abounds in persons, publicly known, who have been restored from alarming and even desperate diseases of the lungs by ils use. "When once tried, its superi ority over every other medieine of its kind is too apparent to escape observation, and where its virtues are known, the public no longer hesitate what antidote to employ for the distressing and dangezjui affections of the pulmonary organs that arc incident to our climate. While many inferior remedies thrust upon the community have failed and been discarded, this has gained friends ly every trial, conferred benefits on the afflicted ihry can never forget, and produced cures too numerous and too remarkable to be forgotten. E. Breinig, Chemist, from pure Linseed Oil, called BREINIG'S IMPS0VED UNSEED OIL. The inventor of this Improvement for many years studied and experimented upon the na-. lure and properties ot Linseed Oil, and it gives him great pleasure that his labors has not been in vain. He has succeeded in great ly increasing these properties, which render Linseed Oil the only True ;ua! Eflicacnl Paint Oil. Brcinig's Improved Linseed Oil is a SELF-DRYING. OIL, and readily united with white Lead, Zincs, and all colored paints in the same proportion as Linseed Oil. Paints ground in pure Linseed Oil, and thinned with this oil will never CRACK, PEAL or SHELL OFF. It will wear bet ter, and last longer than the ordinary Lin seed Oil. I can assure my friends that I have tested it in every possible way and manner, side by side with both raw and boiled oil, and it has proved far superior in every lcspect.
