Many, since the great discovery of Pro Wood," have attempted not only to imitate his restorative, but protess to have discovered something that would produce results iden tical; but they have all come and gone, be ing carried away by the wonderful results of Prof. Wood's preparation, and have been lorced to leave the field to its resistless sway Read the following: Bath, Maine, April 18th, 1859. Prof. O. J. Wood & Co: Gents.: The Id ler I wrote you in ltt56 concerning your val uahle Hair Restorative, and which you have published in this vicinity and elsewhere, has given rise to numerous enquiries touching t fie tacts in the case. The enquiries are, first, is it a fact of my habitation and name, :.b stated in the communication ; second, is it true ot all therein contaii ed; third, dues my hair still continue to be in good order and of natural color! To all I can and do answer invariably yes. My hir is een better than in any stage ot my hie for 40 years p.is-t, more soit, thrifty, and better colored; the same is true of my whiskers, and the only cause why it is not generally true, is that the su;. stance is washed off by frequent ablution of the face, when if care were used by wi ping the face. in close connection with the whiskers, the same result will follow as the hair. 1 have been in the receipt of a great number of letters from all purtsof New Eng land, asking me if my hair still continues to be good ; us there is so much fraud in the manu acturc and sale of various compounds as Well as this, it has. no doubt been basely imitated and heeii used, not only without any (rood effect, but to absolute injury. I have rtot used any ot your Restorative of any ac count for some months, and yet my hair isas good as ever, and hundreds have examined it with surprise, as I am now 61 years old and not a gray hair in my head or on my face; and to prove this tact, I send you a lock of my hair taken off the past week. Irecetvd your favor of two quart bottles last summer. for which I am very grateful: I gave it to my frienus and thereby induced them to trj it, many w ere skeptical until after I rial, ami :hen purchased and used it with universal success. I will ask a favor, that you 6eno me u lest by which I can discover traud in the Restorative, sold by many, 1 fear, with out authority from you. A pure article will insure success, and I ueheve where good ef- fecls do not follow, the failure is caused b) the impure article, which curses the inventor of the good. I deem it my duty as hereto fore, to keep you apprised of the coutinueo effect on my hair, as I assure ali who enquire f me of rny unshaken opinion of its valuable results. 1 remain, dear sir, yours, A. C. RAYMOND Prof. O. J. Wood: Dear Sir. I would cer tainly be doing you a great injustice not to make known to the world, the wonderful, as well at? the unexpected result I have expe rienced from using one bottle of your Hair ltfi.-tor.tive. After using every kind of Re storatives extant, but without success, and finding my head nearly destitute of hair, I was finally induced lo try a bottle of your Hair Restorative. Now, candor and justice compel me to announce to whoever may read this, that I now possess a new and Beautiful irrnwth of hair, which I pronounce richer and handsomer than the original was. I will here take occasion to recommend this valu able remedy to all who may feel the necessi ty of it. Respectfully yours, REV. S. ALLEN BROCK. P. S. This testimonial ot my approbation for your valuable medicine (as you are aware 'f) is unsolicited: but if you think it worth v a piace among the rest, insert if yon wish; if uot destroy and say nothing. Yours, &c. Rev. S. A. B. The Restorative is put up in bottles of three sizes, viz: large, medium, and small; the small holds a pint, and retails for one dollar per nottle; the medium holds at leasl twenty per cent, more in proportion th-.n ihe small, retails for two dollars per nottle; the large holds a quart, 40 per cent, more in pro portion, and retails for S3.
