I think I have found a certain and at the same time a simple and safe cure for the little chick, ihe Gapes arc nothing more than a soall collection of Red Worms rhich inhabit the Wind Pipe, a- bout the sue cf & inn: they collect iuto a knot, which finally suffocates the chicken and it dies. Now all that h necessary is to remove these worms and all i right The usual remedies such as Blade and Red Pcpcr, Mustard, Turpcnlbic, OU, ijrc, can do no good, as tbey cannot reach the Vvui ripe where the trouble is. My plan is simply to take a small quill and divest it of the feathery part, except a small bunch at the tip end which I cut short, then tic a thread to this cud, catch the chicken, open its mouth, insert the quill m its Wind Pipe, and j:iviug it a Jew turns, the thread forms a circle round the quill, when it can be withdrawn and is urc to orine the worms witn it. 1 nave used it in a hundred of cars and never ki.owo it to fail once, but it cured imme diately. It is very nmple at least, and cots only a little time and patience.
