PETROLEUM MARKET
Ornon oP Prrremonon Glearrrs,
• TITSISDAY, April 19. 1870.
The oil market continues weak and
very dull, and, as has been the case for
some time past, the sales are few and far
beta een. As a general thing, the feeling
Is decidedly "bearish," and this feeling
was stimulated somewhat by the report
of a thousand barrel well,'whieh. at last
aceounta, had dwindled down to 50 bbls
ItiStead of 1.000. Whithin the last year,
or two, all reports of big wells have been
received here with considerable
ante, particularly by those who are
dined to be bullish and whose Interests
are not In sympathy with an increased
production. As will have been noticed
by our readers, the reports in regard to
the- production, as furnished by the
Titusville Herald and Producers Associ
ation do no not tally, the former making
It considerably larger than the latter.
Dealers, generally. are disposed to accept
the report of the Herald. though we be.
neve, that both are striving fo give as
correct a repcirt as they can, notwith
standing the discrepancy In their state
ments. Tee report of the producers
association Is said to be gotten up with
great care, also, that their facilities for
getting feats and figures, are better than
those of the Herald. Be this as it may,
the production Is big and holding out
remarkrbly well, and there Is not much
doubt but what the reports of this
month and next will show an increase,
as there is nearly always an Increased
production in the late 'spring and sum
mer months, the weather being mare
favorable for development.
