REVIEW /OR THE WEEK
The oil market has been somewhat
excited and very sensitive during the
week, and while there hue only been a
I moderate volumcrof business, prices] are
etrong, and, compared with last week,
considerably higher. The feeling do•
ring the pant two or three days 'has been
decidedly "bullish," and that the course
of the market, recently, has been in
favor o f the bull element must be con
ceded; several muses conspired to bring
this about, the most prominent of which
was rumors to the effect that a "corner"
was In conteroplation, causing the
'shorts', to feel linearly and nisei
feat a desire to "cover." Then,
again, it is asserted that the stocks
In Europe aro very much re.

Steadily increasing' and that there will
be more oil required this year than lest.
These are some of the strong points ad.

goes in to effect on the let of November,
it is probable that the shipmenta during
the balance of this month will be large.
As will be seen by reference to the above

year is so near its close, that there la no
