Lpirissuwan - °MOE OF PITTEniIIRTH. GAZETTE, moNDAy, July 26, 1869. 4 There is no improvement tonote in' business generally., nor is it _expected that there will be for,: a month to come, Country orders are very scarce, as count. ry people are too much absorban curing their.ciops to' give =mach atten-"- tion'to city pdrehisits; - and"the demand, therefore, for',`almost everything is.re stricted niainlY to supplying immadiate wants. 'Many of the dealers are about sold out, and as, they cannot replace at rnesent prices,' the arrivals are very Tight; it seems that the time has arrived, when our mills can successfully corn- Pete with Western Flour* as Winter Whatls about as cheap here as Spring Wheat is in Chicago, and -as a cons°. quence Winter Wheat Flour is rela tively cheaper than Spring. The mills are reported as running to their full ca capacity, and their orders are mainly for supplying the city trade. PETROLEUM TRARKET, OFFICE OF PITTSBURGH GikcisA MONDAY, July 26, 1869. _ The oil market was considerably "stronger to-day, and compared with Sat urday, prices, especially for Crude, are a shade higher,' and even at the advance there appeared to be more buyers than sellers, This time last year, Refined was higher than it is now, while Crude ruled lower. The former sold , at 34 for a line running from September to December, while spot Crude was only held at 14. Now the 'same delivery of Refined will not bring more than 35y,, while spot Crudeis selling at 15. - It was r*ored to-day that the Titus ville Herald will make no report in're. gard to the production for July, and. the reason assigned is that- the , :reporter, ,"of that paper has been's° grossly deceived. by interested parties, that it is, found impossible to . give anything like . an ac= curate report. The rumor is said to have come from the editorpf the Herald, though we give it as -we got it, - not pre . tending to vouch for its correctness. As already intimated -_Crude was stronger, to-day, and about a quarter higher and even at the advance, the offerings were, by MO means large.
