This* however, was not atestvoto, as Mr. Jordan is iye|l and favorably known throughout the State as a man of integrity and fairness. The first business was loappoiat a Committee of nino on contested seats. This was ordered, nod. a committee was cboson consisting oTseven Curtin men and two opponents. This committee reported in fa vor of all four contestants who were Cnrtin men; but the Convention reversed tbe report in two instances —one in Philadelphia and one in Cumberland, and let two others stand. The Committee of one from each Senatorial dis trict, to report permanent officers, reported uoapi mo-jsly in favor of Hon. Jamkh Pollock, our forujer Governor.
