13 PACT/FCL . BeliOnia LOTS AT ATICTION.—No
lots ever offered to our citizens at public sale
hare possessed so many and distinct advantages
for private residences ELS those into which Mr.
John Irwin has divided his First Ward, A:leghe
ny property, to bo sold by Mr. Davis on next
Tuesday evening, in his Sales rooms, No. 51
Fifth street. This district of our sister city is
already extensively improved with its magnifi
cent mansions and grounds of `Pittsburgh busi
ness men, 'who have chosen there, for its beauty
of - location; purity of air, and convenience of no-
Oen. These completed improvements, devoting
it to the elegances of life, have secured it in all
the future against the intrusion of manufacture
or trade; within ten minutes walk from the Alle
gheny end of the bridge the, whole route is a
continuous attecession of beautiful views and
highly onitivated private grounds, making it one
or the pleasantest promenades in the cities, the
charm of which will be entire when the elegant
wire alspeosion bridge will have displaced the
old w odon structure aver the Allegheny. The
lots a e of various BiZe9 to suit purchasers in
their different architectural designs; all of them
fronting on r.,0 feet streets or on the West Com
mon. -- Ridge street, the southern boundary of
these lots, promises to be the most magnificent
avenue that leads through Allegheny, opening
into the Ohio river, and presenting lovely glimp
ses of the whole valley, with the crowning hills
iu the distance. All these lots lie favorably for
immediate hnprovement and require no expense
or grading. Tho proprietor has determined to
sell, and the terms will be accommodating to per
chnere, so. that our citizens wishing to secure
homesteads will find this opportunity the most
advantageous likely to occur for many years.
Plans can be had at the Auction rooms, and the
grounds will he shown to visitors.

Boners° THE MAlL — Yesterday morning,
about'B o'clock, U. S. Deputy Marshal, Bernard
Dougherty, arrests-If George Rush, Postmaster
at Etna, better known as Stewartetown, charged
with robbing the mail. Yesterday forenoon,
Mr. Dougherty related to us the fellowing facts:
The proper authorities had received from time
time accounts of letters, put into that office,
which had never reached their destination. Some
decoy letters were at length dropped in on
Thursday, and not reaching their destination,
the arrest as above referred to was made. The
Deputy Marshal found Rush in bed. lie search
ed his clothes and found on them sl2'3 in paper
money. In the bed on which he slept were found
$lOO in gold, not marked or identified. On
further search, five packages of letters were
found in a private desk in the house, which had I
evidently been taken out of the naail during
Thursday, and which had contained the money
found on his person. Other letters were found,
mailed at Bakerstown for Philadelphia as far
back as the 28th of April. Rush was commit
ted for further hearing to-day, at 2 o'clock. He
is a middle aged man and has a wife and family.
We did not learn whether he is an appointee
of the present or of the last previous adminis

Tux CONCXRT on next Tuesday evening is a
general theme amongst our music-loving citi

ono can fur a moment doubt, who takes into
consideration the eminent singers connected
with the association, and the great number who
will join in the concert. There is st:ll a number
of choice seats left, (owing to a ormur that 01

music on this occasion will do well to select
their seats at once, as the few remaining ones
will doubtless be sold without delay.
The Price Comet comes off in Lafayette Hall

the societies composing the association will com
