the admission of Kansas, with the Lecompton
constitution. A man named Campbell, one of
the election officers at Oxford, whose name waj
•dgned' to the fraudulent return from Oxford,
was arrested, and taken to Lawrence, bnt on
being arraigned for being concerned in the
fraud, he proved that he did not sign his name
to the returns. The whole-paper, votes, signa
tares and all, was a forgery, and yet Calhoun
counted the votes as lcgaL, The pro-slavery
