Istratiop t aded. the nomination of a Union county The gentleman alsoreported the proceedings of the Union State Convention held, at Harris. burgh, and offered the' fallowing resolution: 'WtICILIGII4 The people Of Pennsylvania with out regard to past polliield differences, who are opposed to the Repeal of the Miseouri Coen promise, to the Tolley of .the present National , Jadmintstration, to the eitension of Slavery in the Territories, and in favor of the admission of Kansas as a free State, and of restoring the action of the Federal Government to the prin ciples of Washington and Jefferson, have at a Union Convention held at ihrrisburgh on the 26thtlayet March last nominated a State ticket, and , having thus united. in' the State Naming. Sous, we recommend to the people of Alle gheny county the propriety of forming a union, uporiecuengtessienal &ad comity lliket upon the . same baste, sad to that end, all of the people who are willing to form said union upon said basis are reqeested to meet in their respective election districts thronghant the county on Saturday the diet day of May, 1856, and choose two delegates from each district to meet in Cooney Convention at the Court Home in the city of Pittsburgh on Wednesday at 11 o'clock, A. M., the 4th day of Jane 1856, to nominate a Congnseeional and County Ticket. J. W. F. White, Esq., opposed the time named for the County Convention. The Republican Convention bad been called for the same time. He thought the committee had better adjourn until .after,ae National Conventions shall have been-held, The time proposed woe premature. Reoffered an amendment that it was inexpedient at this time to take any Wien In reference to a county convention. - Hon. Jasper E. Brady supported the resolu tion, bet thought the time named was much too early. Who knew what would be the remit of the Cincinnati Convention? He did not think Hsi-Northern democracy would stratum the Southern &Worm which would be forced on 'het contention. Mr. Hersh offered -an amendment that the time be changed for the primary meetings to the last Saturday In August, and the convention be held on the -Wednesday following. • Mr. Howard asked-leave to withdraw his res olution and - re-offer it with "lest Saturday In lane" subsea:Med for 'last Saturday In May" sod "first Wednesday in July" for “first.-Wed nesday in june." The request was not granted. Mr. Hersh modified his amendment to have the primary meetings held on the 3d Saturday of August, and the convention on the succeeding Wednesday; - Mr. Howard 'tempted the amendment. Mr. White withdrew his amendment and the resoln tine wits then unanimously adopted.
