Weatern PRIXIMFrazia. and Eastern Ohlo. A Democratic Opinion. Theodore Parker, in hht address at the. Tab ernacle on Thursday eroding, stated that a mem.. bee of the present Administratton had declared that the Government of this country ought to be a limited monarchy. We have no doubt that such an opinion has been expressed. Many of the leading managers of that great political or ganization called the Democratic party, undoubt edly entertain it. The tendencies of that or ganization have all been that way for several years. The debauchery of political sentiment among its leaders has been going on to such an extent of late and hag obtained ankh firm foot hold, Mitt the more honest amen them; have been everywhere stalking it in disgust. To dhow this, it le enough that"we mention the names of Bentou,• Blair, Preston King, Alljah Mann, Nike, Bryant, B. P. Butler, Cloy. Chase, and others whose names, scarcely less distinguished, will °con to every political reader. These men i belonged to the old Jacklon party and were hon est in their profeesions of Democracy. But see. ing the manner in which the political organisa tion they had so long acted with, and of which they were the chief supporters and the greatest ornaminte, was being prostituted to purposes :reign to its true objects by aliens to the Demo °ratio faith, they have one by one abandoned in until now the more independent and inflexible of the leading members of the old Jacksonian Democracy are ail outside the ruilm of what is yet termed the Democratic party.. Those who remain In that party catmot.oon sietently with the views of' the kilvile g ed eau who now inspire its doctrinal and give It tone and direction, refuse to slept this idea of a lead ing member of the present Administration, that our Government should be a limited monarchy. It is the proper complement and fitting result of the views inculcated on every hand, and rspedel ly by the leading organs of the party. There never wae as era In our history when the idea of force in controlling the people &as pot forward with more boldness than now. There never was a time whets the true doctrine of the rights of man, and, above all, of State rights, were more unblushingly disavowed, than by the present Democratic party, so called. There never wan time when more persistent endeavors were made to undermine the principles of the Declaration of Independence. There never was a period when more disgusting comments and ribald re flections were uttered upon good men of the past, who lived and died laboring in the canoe of their fellow men. On every hand, from three in hostility to the great Republican movement of the day--e movement which has for its main object the r evival of the spirit of liberty Lb the people, and the re-assertion of the good old' prinelplesef Revolutionary times—we hear the enunciation of sentiments which belong only to despotic or ,monarchical cent:tree. The writers of the political articles in the leading journals opposed to the Republic= movement seem to be foreigners who have not yet comprehended the true spirit of our institu tions. They are either such,. or they are, like the advocates of monarchy in the Cabinet, apos tates from American Republicanism. But wheth er one or the other, mates little difference. We eimply call attention to the great fact that those who lead the democratic organization end the wri ters who uphold it, are advocating doctrines' more startling than were ever before advanced by any party in this country. The doctrines laid down and Intimated on the fundamental question of human rights, end of the rights of the citizen under our State Governments, as shown to the enactment and interpretation of the Fugitive Slave Lew, the high-handed „re cordings of Kane judges, the extravagant de mends of the champions , of Slavery, the discuz alouq telletiegse - iind — pradmations on 'Kansas, ' the actual apd threatened military demonstra- Lieu against the people; tarp to-show that lite Democratio organization nee not only become' intensely conservative, buthu ruched • point far beyond old-faebionadlad erilisro, and is on the high road to the adoption of the dogma of the "Democratic" Cabinet °Hee, who, wording to Mr. Parker, has declared that our Govern ment ehould be a limited manerchy. . Practically the most earl:wit opponents of Re publicanism have already' reached that point. We have recently been told by one of their lead ing organs, that in order to keep the spirit of liberty in proper 'abjection,' "the same modes must be resorted to here as in monarchical countries; that is, powder and ball. We have rr seen a citizen of a neighboring State draggedhLtssunusa a Porrioos.--On the 4th of ,March, 1867, the fienitorial term of the Hon. .from-his family, and Incarcerated for menthe.. annual, liU.Bomner's enueesor would proper crders—from the very member' •of the Cabinet . within the stone trails of a felon's risen at the \C hart " r.i°l "" r ' of itt "" ° " s•tt s , order of a Judge who receives his inepiratien— (The legislative cession in. the Bay State being and probably, in the case &MOW to; his direct' ly be elected at the eiessienCef next winter..- who Baia this Government should he a mom , But there is no positive law on the subject, and the exigencies of . party politics have brought up ohy. We are boldly told in Congress a Government which was imposed arm the free for dissuasion the project of electing a Senator at the present nazism. These and kindred sentiments and ideas are flippantly bandied about by the pram In the in terest of the great "Democratic" organization. The people themselves, under' the working of this potent engine, are expected to be the wn- , ling inetrumentain foistlngre, hateful tyranny upon themselves. That there should bo &party In this cotintryin favor of& strong Government —a monarchy, even— is not wonderful. But that snob a partreltonld be able to steal the cloak and organization of democracy to do it in, Is remarkable. We did not expect to hear It announced by a leading member of a professed ly Democratic Administration that our political system ought to be converted into a monarchy.
