Tits AMERICAN NATIONAL Cowsmarrion.—A correspondent of the New York Timm, writing from, Philadelphia, thus speaks of the ante of thing 6 among the politicians there congregated;, . There are many opinions concerning what will be done by the Platform emanation. As the repreimatation of the several States in the Con vention is equal to the number of their electoral Toter, it is certain that, If the Free-State dole gallons are full, they may make whatever plat form nits them. In the event of their being able to do so, the friends of Northern candidates are anxious that the famous Twelfth Section be atrioken out of the Platform, and the subject of Slavery ignoredt—in fiat, to arrange it in any 'Way en that, while it would please the North and West, the Beath — would be willing to stand upon'l it: They will then, it is believed, endeavor to gerthe South to propose George Law, and to get him nominated by a majority of both sec tion combined. The ardent laborers of Mr. Law, are strongly opposed to a postponement of the Nominating Convention. His Northern friends and at least onalitlf the Ohio delegation oppose a postpone ment 'of the Nominating Convention, on the gromid that if a rumination be not made early, the Republicans will come into the Held with a candidate every way acceptable to the Free-801l 'EMINIINIOOL; and that any subsequent nomination by the American Party would be Mewed simply as a movement to divide the Free.Soll strength, had give the victory to the Pro-Slavery and Anti-American interest:. They claim, too,• that If they get an acceptable man nominated and in the field first, any subsequent nomination by the Repnblions would be deemed Injudicious by the "Y'ree-Boil esatimout, and that It would, in con 'legman, refuse to give It a hearty support;— an opinion which may well go for all it is worth. Mr. Law'e friends also talk with apparent sin are* of the absolute necessity of throwing over all the old party hacks, and coming before the people with a men untrammeled by formerparty tin or friendships. A. large majority of the delegates who have arrived are George Law men. When the whole strength of the Convention Mull bare arrived matters may assume a more warlike upon. The Menschusetts delegate are here, and they do not conceal their opposition to George Law... There Is only one who, it is believed, multi be induced to vote for him, 'under any nimanmetames. When asked what they think of .him for President, they say they don't know hire, and have not thought of him in that con nection. There is said to be one member in favor Of Millard Fillmore, but he has not yet ar rived.! Thai Louisiana delegation are eald to bo man inosuain War of George Law.
