Assannsv, Or Scuom.,—The seventh day's proceedings of this body, woe devoted pretty much to the discussion - of the subject of church extension, the report of the committee on tho subject being before the Assembly,-with a , motion pending to recommit with instructions to report a place for the es tablishment of a board of church erection. The discus/11Ln was to the point of the mode of Car rying out the project of church extension, all agreeing se to Ito importance. The morning hour of adjournment arrived before - the question was reached. In the the reports of committees upon Sinaloa Records occupied, a greater part of thecession. The Committee on foreign corres pondence also' repeited, and nominated delegates to foreign Ixidiks, which report was adopted. The committee on the records of the Synod of Baltimore, recommended their adoption, with the re following exception: That the rule in a judicial case that parties should go out of court, was not enforced according to discipline. Dr. llockus hoped that exception would be stricken out, and Le give his reasons why thought It importhnt that the parties should re dain present. I Rev. Mr. Bays opposed the motion to strike' I out deeming the enforcement of the rule impor- tant. Dr. Flamer spoke in su ort of the motion to pp strike out the exception. Ile hoped the Assem bly would return to the usage of .the church which prevailed for fifty-nine years up to ISIS, and which required that parties should be pres ent for their own benefit. , Dr. Krebs addressed the Assentbly in the same strain, and the discussion was continued at some length, turning principally upon the moaning of the word "withdraw," as used in the book, re quiring parties, afterhaving been heard, to with draw. The testimony of members seemed to be, that the constitution and practice under this law tag, thit the word meant& withdrawal only con struetively--a withdrawal from membership of the tour; and not from the house. It was con tended, however, that the word meant a with drawal from the house. The Anerobly decided to strike out the excep tion, and the rat:art was then adopted. The Nronnint clerk announced the receipt of two additional commissions, one of which was from the Balimore Presbytery, Sidney B. Baxter, ruling elder. The Nashville papers give very brief .secants of the proceedings, and we therefore obtain some interesting facts from other sources. A totter deed Nashville:Mei 21, says: Tbia afternoon a number of memorials and remonstrances were presented from various min isters and elders, and Presbyteries, In relation to the new Synod of BAIIIMOTe, This Synod was erected by the Amenably a year ego, against a strong opposition. The lapse of a year seems not to have weakened, bat rather to have strengthened this apposition. An earnest effort will be made to revoke the action of the lest Assembly and accomplish a return of the prim_ byteties to their former positions. This action will be as earnestly resisted. AliCITatUlll WWI reported this afternoon on the quest:ion whether the baptized children of the church when arrived At years of diewzretion were entitledto vote In the election of a pastor. The committee reported in the affirmative, on - *Mak anizilmated discussion 'arose, but no vote was taken. Rev. Dr. I.lusigrave, coriisponding secretary' of the Board of *medic klissions, presented the annual report .of that Board. Thenommercial embarreullshrents of the country Isis affected al most all' benerrolent operations, and the aggre gate receipts of this board ere slightly smaller than last year.. Nevertheless, it gave a noble account of its progress and usefulness. Five hundred and twenty-five ministerifof the Gospel have been wholly or partly iustalned by it in do inside missionary fields during the put year, and fifty-two houses of worship have been corn gotta by Its aid.
