'., Same Runup DOLLAIII Recovanso.—We 1 chronicled a day or two ago the Tom of $l6lO by Mr: John Robinson, at Lawrenceville. The money was taken from his pocket. Early on, Thursday morning, most of the money was recovered in the following manner: Subse quent to the robbery, measures were taken for the arrest of the robber. H. Donaldson, of Ta rentum, was arrested, but it became evident that he , was innocent and be was therefore dis charged. Suspicion then fell upon a young man named Charles Rankin, who resides'at Lawrence: vine. It was discovered that he had pa=ced sev eral bills of &denomination and description simi lar to those stolen. On Wednesday night, he was in the city and indulged in liquor to such an excess that he went to bed at a eery late honest one of our hotels Ina state of intoxication. lie was accompanied by a friend of Mr. Robinson's, who wasreecretly on the look-out. They occu pied the, same room. M soon as, Rankin hod failed asleep, his' companion quietly got up and hastened for a_pellce officer, Officer Hague and Constable Smith, of Lawresteeville, were inform ed of the - facts and they immediately repaired to the room, where they found Rankin asleep Hewes awakened and being informed of their business with him, confessed that he had taken the money, and arvsed to return it. He appeared much alarmed, and seemed thunderstruck when the matter Lwas broached to him. The officers proceeded to Lawrenceville with him, where he produced all the money except about $9O. Be was prosecuted by Sarah Ann Greenlee and Nancy Greenlee, his wife and daughter. lle was sentenced to ten years imprisonment in the Pen itentiary, where he is by this time Incarcerated. CoLLlatOn on TELS PZINA. R. R. —A collision occurred between two freight trains at Irwin'a Station; on the Pennsylvania Railroad, on Wed nesday night. One train was !trading at the de pot with its proper signal lights, when a second train came up no the same track. The Engi neer 'whistled- .'down brakes" but not in time to stop his train which dashed into the hind car of the other train. The car was smashed up and the locomotive injured.
