Morris, corner of Hand and Fayette streets, in preparing a number of beautiful statues for the Catholic Cathedral on Grant street. Those of St. Peter and St. Paul are finished, and far surpass any thing of the !rind ever executed in this city. They are each eaten feet high, and designed and finished in a style that does credit to the head _and bands' of the artist under whose directions they were mod. eled and executed. St. Peter is represented holding a .book is ens hand and a bunch of keys in the other. St Pail holds a sword in his right hand, while with the - left he presses a book against his heart . The features of each are beautifully;. modeled, and their whole ap .pearance .peceliarly striking and imposing.— A statue of St. Bridget, of the same dimensions as the others, is in course of completion, and will be finished in a few days. A cast of St. ,Patrick, Ireland's patron saint, is also in course of preparation. The statues, or which some fourteen.
