To tAc Editor of the Gazette The letters which have recently appeared in I your paper in regard to Dr. C. M. Fitch's sec- 1 resit in the treatment of disenses of the Longs, have suggested to me to make known through the medium of your widely circulated journal. the following facts which I feel must be of deep interest to a large proportion of our c'emmunity, proving c''‘ they do, the curability of one of the most obstinate and hamming forms of Pulmon hey Disease. I had been for more than eigh teen months laboring under a sevens Aiithma, or rather what-was apparently a severe Asthma and Bronchitis combined. Far more Mann year it had been impessible for me to lay a whole night in my bed, no die tressiug was the feeling of suffocation produced, 'wl,ile much of the time the secretion from toy lungs was to profuse that I raised four and borne times five spittoons full of mucus in the course of twelve hours. Many nighti my friends watch ed with me, thinking I must die from .o'o.- 6., nod three times I was actually pronounced dead. Our Physicians . around here—and I consulted 1 the tort skilful men in Summit county—said I must die : had Professor Delamater, whoui I also consulted, gave me up, Baying that although I might obtain partial and tempnrory relief, re covery was impossible. From nothing which I ; hail used could I gain more than partial relief. i I took large quantities of opium and morphine, i but without avail; the secretion could not be. controlled. I was in this condition when Dr. I Cann .11. Fitch, of New York, commenced a I source of Lectures et Cleveland, and shortly tit- terwnrds visited Akron. I had teen the effects 1 of his treatment in the care of the child of a friend, who, under Dr. Fitch's treatment, had been greatly benefitted, and who is recover tog from what hail been pronounced an incurable disease of the Lungs; and I lost no opporunity I in consalting hon. Ills prescriptions have ef. footed More then either friends or physicians considered possible. It iv six weeks since Vi commenCed his treatment, sad. I am now .d have been Tor four weeks past able to he down sad sleep all night with perfect ease and comfort. I ant better and feel stronger—much stronger than I hod for eighteen months past. Our phy sicians consider it almost a miracle, and Lave been recommending Dr. Fitch's treatment in all disease. of the lungs. I have recently taken a severe Cold and it af fects me ecarcely more than it would tines dune when I was in perfect health. Dr. Rice, one of our oldest and best plipticians, tells me that this cold before I consulted Dee - Pitch would have in evitably caused my death. I heard him rec.- , tnened a patient who asked his' . '" deice oboist con sulttng Dr. C. M Furth, to d;', o by. all Means, and be gave the following re. tee "Dr. Fitch's success shows that he understands his depart ment most thoroughly, and it is natural that he •hould, fur he devotes his whole attention to dis eases of the throat and lungs, and examines from five to twenty patients every day he - liver, while we perhaps see scarcely hilf a dozen cares in the course of a year. We have fevers and every form of acute diseases to engross and distract our attention. and Dr. Fitch has nothing tit do but to sunk and test the effect of remedies in one par. tiednr class of diseases. I advise you by All means to consult him." Several of our physi cians speak in the same terms; foe, not only in my own case bat In many others in this vicinity has Dr. C. M. Fitch effected wonders. A friend std neighbor of mine, *he at the time Dt. Fitch visited Akron was confined to his bed and whom i consequenCe Dr. Fitch visited personally, in forms me that he has gained nineteen poande since commencing Dr. Fitch's treatment. An other case inlet. place—a Mr. French. has gain el vet y rapidly. These facts will he attested by almost rsery respectable inhabitant of our piste, for they have been well known and hare , tract ed much attention. I address this to you, r I learn that Dr. Calvin Fitch is at present in your city, and it may he the means of directing, some unfortunate sufferer like myself to obtaining the means of relief. , Very truly. years.
