TIIII EXCITESIEIXT IX 1401111 WILLE.—Lonisvillo is
smarting under a sense of both injustice - aid dis-
Ivaco. A foul murder committed upon one
of her unoffending citizens, cannot be punished
by duo coaso of law in Kentucky. No wonder
those of her, citizens who do not sympathize with
the Wards, who do not belong to their exclusive
set, are aroused.
From the Cincinnati and.Lonisville papers of
haturday, wo gather the following facts. The
following notices appear in these papers:
A meeting of the citizens of Louisville, fav,or

ory of the lamented

is requested at tho Court norm, April 29th; at
early 6. light.
To the "Wolfe Blood Hounds of Loui3ville."
Fellow"!flood Hound*:"
The most atrocious murder ever perpetrated in
any community, was the killing of Mr: NV, IL, GI.
Butler, by Mat. F. Ward. It is a sacred and sol,
elan duty due to the dead, and to Jhelum black
ened and dishonored name of Kentucky, from
Whence truth has fled, and justice has been dis
regarded, to call a meeting of the '" Wolfe Blood

outrageous verdict of a Hardin county jury, and
the man who dared stigmatize American citizens

derers of the . Lamented Butler. We propose this
(Saturday) night ett the Court House, the time
and place for meeting. Como one, come all, and
let Kentucky. give evidence that there are men
that money cannot buy. Turnout fellow " Blood
Hounds," and vindicate yourselves. There will
be speeches and resolutions expressive of the just
indignation of our citizens.
April 28, 1854. THE PEOPLE.
It appears that Mr. Weird, who Is the Senator
from the Louisville district, in his speech to the
jury spoke of the people of Louisville as " blood
bounds." This; however, he denies in the fol
lowing card:

their opinions about what I have said until the

the trial of. M. F. Ward, Is now in the hands of
a stenographer, as I understand, and will shortly
appear.
The stenographer, I learn 1e now on his way

been written out by him.

The Courier gives the names of several gentle

they beard Mr. Wolfe make use of the language
imputed to him. Senator Wolfe, on Friday, as
he was going from his - dwelling to his office, a

The following items we copy from the Courier.
Passim; Csans so Buckner m out

that the ex-tnreley, John Bherley, never played'

,ONI 01 THS Bitsums.—The man Barlow, who

Col. Buckner, the jailor, in his card, was ejected

WASHINGTON, April 29.
In case Mr. M'Candless should be disappoint
ed in his reasonable expectations of the Chillan
mission, I would suggest to him a new opening.
' I hear that Solon Borland, U. S. Minister to Cen
tral America, bairesigned, or sent home letters
announcing the alarming purpose of preclpitat
in:glareself Once more upon this unhappy coun
try. It is not known what Cap have induced So
lon to form this resolution. He has won, it is
true, a brilliant reputation by the negotiation in
the incredibly short space of six months, of a
commercial and Fillibustering treaty, which may
be said to "knock the spots out" of all the_diplo-
Metric achievements of these modern days. Met
ternich, Talleyrand, -Nesselrode and Webster
Must yield the palm to this Arkansas luminary,
who has managed to compass by a few strokes of
the pen, more than the combined statesmanship
of England and America has been able to accom
plish in six years, to wit: to dispose of and settle
for all time the sovereignty of the Mosquito ter
ritory.
Mr. Borland's treaty provides some guarantees
for the better regulation of our commerce through
Nicaragua. The Transit company between New
York and San Francisco monopolises neatly all
the trade between that region and the United
States, and the necessities of the Nicaragua
government has frequently compelled it to tax
the Company's business a little beyond the bear
ing paint. -One of the objects of the treaty is to
remove the pretexts for these exactions.
-The next point treated of in this remarkable
"document, is the claim of Nicaragua to the
whole of the Mesquito territory, and that is set
tled by the simple. process of annexing Mosquito
to the little State in question. , The President
had the good sense to reject this precious contri•
mince on the ground that the Clayton and Bul
wee convention guaiantied the neutrality of the
Mesquite country, as against any one of the
neighboring States, and that we bad nothing to
do with their boundary disputes.
The Borland affair having been thus discarded,
the whole subject of the commercial relations
with Central America was turned over to Mr.
*elm, who, I presume, will now net as charge,
f interior. It is stated that a general convention
will be made with the States of the divided con
federation, placing American commerce on an ad
snustageous and permanenrfooting.
I.wonld suggest to Mr. M'Candless that, if he
has not committed himself on the, Nebraska bill,
be make an immediate profession of faith on that
,topic. Nebraska IS now the only recognised
'Shibboleth of office. Bow does he stand on that
issue! Again, ...I hope I don't intrude," but I
Irma recommend your townsman to take this
place if offered, without waiting for.the'chancts

as the State election approaches. — I am rejoiced
to receive from excellent Whig authority at Har
risburg, the assurance that there never was a
a; more cheering prospect for tarrying the State
by,a good round majority.
,All speculations upon the Nebraska affair seem
vain and idle. The intrigues and machinations
of its patrons continue with unabated seal. The
project of introducing a new bill divested of the
Clayton and Badger amendments is persisted in.
Some few Northe'rn members are known to have
gone over. One has obtained a Western land of
fieeforhis brother. Another has been gratified
by the appointment of a relative to the clerkship
in the Post office. A third has been promised n
