A terrible murder was committed .in this city, this morning at three o'clock, on East Genesee Street, No. 185, In the dwelling of Josep Hart ur-s. The house was enterod by two negroes, and Mr. Hartman was killed while in bed asleep, by iblow from a heavy iron bar. ..cCoroner Trowidge held an inquest this morn• ing, hem which we learn that at about three Mrs. Hartman was awakened by a noibo In the room, and on looking up she saw two on gross in theroom. Nor husband was immediately struck with an iron instrument which killed him Inatuitly. The Degrees then went into the gre edy, which was in the same house, and up -attars; Mrs. Hartman then got up, when the 'se ines came down; one of them came into the room, and struck her several times with a club, blesking her arm; she gave the alarm, when the fled. Nothing was taken from the house. The 'cause that prompted the bloody deed re mains yet a mystery. Much other testimony wan taken, and a verdict rendered of murder by persons unknown.
