The principal subjectof interest in California, is the alarming state of feeling among the lndt ans on the Colorado, in the vicinity of San Die go, Los Angeles. and Santa Barham. The out break had commenced among the Indium, and is daily assuming a more threatening character. The enforcement of the tax laws among the Indians, is said to he the ostensible cause of the rebellion, in which they have been incited by the lower class of native Californsans, who cher ish the most bitter feeling against the Ameii• cans. Volunteer companies were organizing in the South to march against the Indians: and the Governor had ordered General Hitchcock, at Sonora, to despatch troops, forthwith, to the rescue of the citizens in the disturbed districts. The-Governor had also ordered — down the de tachment of troops stationed at Fort Oxford. and would probably despatch one or more cote panietent on early day. At San Francisco, Sacramento, and other places, a good deal of rain had fallen, and the wet season had fairly set in. Capt. Waterman, of the ship Challenge, woo brought before the Court on the 4th, and wale ing an explanation, was commuted for trial on three 'warrants for assault, and one for mur der. There had been no change iti„ the market since the lot instant, but there was rather more firmness among holders, from the belief that their would be small shipments from the Allan tic states; and thocertaluty of a very large em igration between November and the ensuing spring.
