The new concern is to manufacture engines and hollers, and at the beginning will employ about twenty-five hands, mostly mechanics, In the factory soon to bo erected. A temporary organization was effect ed by electing George H. Metzgar, of Rartonsville, president; S. Flagler, sec retary; Stockton Bartron, H. H. Klnt ner, A. M. Palmer, Joseph Overflow, John I. The matter was thoroughly discussed, and it was shown to tho subscribers for stock that tho project would be a profit able one. Canfield Is now figuring on an extensive addition to be made to the smith shop in the spring, and Is also securing figures on additional pieces of Improved ma chinery. The famous "White Rat" dining car, which was run on the Lackawanna main line during the past year, is now lu tho paint shop undergoing repairs. It was tho only dining car ever run on a railroad with Its Interior finishing done in white enamel, nnd attracted widespread attention, especially from Pan-American visitors. It Is now be ing painted a light greenish tint, and Is very pretty. President AV, H. Truesdale's private car, "The Lake Forest," Is also In the paint .hop, along with the Pullman "Damoru." Roth ure being overhauled and brightened up with fresh paint. Nearly eight hundred of the one thou sand new bos cars recently ordered by the Lackawanna roud from tho Ameri can Car und Foundry company havo been received, and the remainder will be finished within the next two weeks. AVork will then bo commenced on an other thousand, which have been or dered. Lackawanna's New Engines. The majority of the new locomotives ordered by the Lackawanna Railroad company from the American Locomo tive company during tha past yenr are now In use, und giving excellent satis faction. Tho order pluced recently for sixty additional engines Is now being filled, and ten of them are expected to bo ready for delivery froiu the Schenec tady shops next week. Forty of this order will bo built at the Schenectady bhops, nnd twenty ut tho Cooke shops. The latter will be de livered during tho coming year, At the Dickson Plant.
