Baker, of Duryea, yesterday held a consultation on Walter Haker, who was seriously Injured on Thursday afternoon by be ing thrown from a wagon, as described In yesterday's Tribune. It Is thought that the Injured man's spine Is frac tured, and while his case Is considered very critical, there Is a faint hope, and should there be a dlmunltlon of the paralysis from which ho Is suf fering, an operation may be pel formed In a few days. The Injured man is well known throughout the valley and the sad uccldent has caused his many frlejids a. severe shock. The reckless spsed at which tho street car company compels their em ployes to run cars through the bor ough has again been Lrought to the attention of the people of the borough by Thursday's deplorable accident nnd conversation with the president of the borough count II last evening, we learned that the council contem plate taking action tint will compel the street car company to regulate tho speed of the cars as stipulated In their franchise, which limits the speed to ten miles nn hour, or steps will be taken to revoke their chaiter.
