Defeated Allontown in a One Sidod GamobyScora of 11-7 Mil- Jifj;an Did Our Twirling;. Scranton took Us fourth straight game from Allentown yesterday In a dull, listless contest, brightened by only a few feature. Among these lat ter, however, was the batting of Pitcher Mllllgan. In the hard-hitting south paw's four turns at the bat he landed on Boyle's curves for a single and two doubles. Jack O'Brien also batted well for Scranton, clouting out a double and two singles. At the end of the ninth Inning the score stood 11-7, Allentown being outclassed from the llrst. Today we meet a foeman worthy of our steel. At 8.30 o'clock this mornlnnr the team and a large number of local enthusiasts will leave for Wllkes-Barro via the Jersey Central, and there battle for supremacy with Billy Cly mer and hi band of aristocratic Barons. A rugged lad by tho name of Kennedy will twirl for Scranton, and On the team's return In the afternoon, Kervln will do th pitching In this city. City. Yesterday's gamo was begun with a rush. After Jim Delehanty had gono out to Kervln, who was playlntr center field In the place of Knox, who sup planted Mclntyre at first on account of tho latter's hand being hurt Monday, Henry singled. Tom Delehanty forced tho big centerflelder at second, and Joe Delehanty cracked out a hot one. News came to the bat and hit a beauty to left field, on which tho Delehantyi scored. Scranton, however, showed up strong ly also. Hub Knoll drew a base on balls. Jack O'Brien singled, "Old Boy" Sheft made first on an error of Kuhn, which scored Hub, and then becoming festive, stole second. Knox's out and Kervln's single scored both. Mllllgan singled In the second, Knoll sent a beautiful three-bagger to right and Jack O'Brien and Sheffler doubled, netting three more. In tha third, Doherty opened with a hit, Pirate O'Brien's out at first advanced him to second and Toft's single scored him Tho Catcher came In on Mllllgan's double to the right field fence. Boyle, then took a brace and for tho next three Innings didn't give a hit. In the seventh, however, Burnham's men decided to make tho game suro. uonerty, the first man up, received n base on balls. Plrato O'Brien mag nanimously sacrificed him to second, and Toft electrified the crowd by mak ing another hit, a hot drive to right field. Mllllgan stepped to the bat an 1 Boyle, who had fanned him out In his last previous appearance, smiled tri umphantly, described a parabola with his right leg and tent In a real nlco one. Ho got two strikes on his op ponent, and his smile grow almost ai expansive as that worn by his col league, Stlmmel, who was getting In hot water all through the gam by loafing around tho coaching line when O'Brien was doing his coaching set. "Well, It proved that Boyle's smlln was a little previous, as Mllllgan banged out another two-baser, and Toft scored the second run ot the lnnlnr Mllllgan was run down betweon second and third on Knoll's force. The little centerflelder stole second and scored on Jack O'Brien's third safe one. Allentown, after the first Inning, took i. rest and did not score until the sixth, when Joe Delchanty's third single. News' force hit, Doherty's error and "West's out brought In two more. In the seventh, Boyle's hit, error by PJrato O'Brien and Toft, and out by Henry and Tom Delehanty brought In two more tallies. In the eighth, the last run came In on McManus' force hit, of' West, who had made first on Knoll's excusable muff of his fly, and Kuhn's beautiful two-bagger to deep left, the second hit he has made tn BEAUTY, mg GONQUBRO BELLAVITA Aroonto ZJeanty Tablets and Pills.
