She was bom Sep tember 27, 1S31, and was one of a fam ily of thirteen. One brother, only, still lives and lesldes at Ulnghamton, N, V. She was married to James E. Klnner, August 30, 1857, who was a private In Company I, One Hundred and Forty llrst leglment, Pennsylvania volunteers, and who died In the service a few years later. Two sons, James S. und O. Frank Krause, who shot and killed his sweet heart, Maggie Guth, and Owen Kern, proprietor of the hotel Cetronla, on March 3, 1S99, while In a Jcalou3 frenzy, was hunc In tho jail yard hero this moi nlng. The trap was sprung at 10.07, but tho noose slipped to Krause's chin and he slowly strangled to death. For fully five minutes his legs, shoulders and arms twitched, showing that his death was a hard one. lie was pio nounced dead at 10.21. Krause made some remarks on the gallows before the hanging.
