"Teachers' Mectlngsj Shall Wo Have

of Scranton, who warmly advocated
them and gave some useful sugges

lesson being taught a class of small
children from the public schools by
Mis. Barnes.
The concluding session was held at
half-past seven o'clock In the evening,
and was presided over by Dr. Flet
cher. The proceedings were opened by
a set vice of song and piayer by Rev.
Mr. Ford, of Orccn Ridge.
M. ". Lathrope gave n very earnest
and thoughtful talk on the "Sunt erne
Purpose of Sunday School Teaching,"
In which he appealed to the teachew
for a profound realization of the sub
lime wor't of tialning of young lives.
The supreme purpose was the redemp

accomplish this was necessary to have
(Jod'H power and he appealed to all
teacheis to ask earnestly for power
and they would more fully realize the
lesponslblllty of the great work they
were engaged in.
Mr. Wolf spoke on "A Successful
Superintendent," In which he depicted
several unsuccessful types, among
which were the easy-going, the self
satlslled and fault-finding ones. He
also had a word against the talkative
superintendent, who tries to explain
eveiytliing, who was self-conceited,
and was not ready to adopt any new I
Ideas unless tliev emanated from his
own bi.iin. and he concluded by giving

One of the best things ot the conven

on the "Intermediate class and Its
Woik." She lefeued to chlldieu be
tween S and l eais of age, which, she
said, was the age of Ideals and hero
worship, it was nlso the memory and
Investigation age. She thought this
the most easy age to turn the inves
tigating instincts of children into the
channels of Biblical learning. She
said It was also the habit of making
age and said the chlldten should be
lnstiucted in the habit of church-going,
daily Bible reading and Bible
study. She advocated a separate
loom between tha primary and senior
rooms and said wherever possible this
should he adopted. Her lemaiks wero
