Mr. Wolf spoke on "A Successful Superintendent," In which he depicted several unsuccessful types, among which were the easy-going, the self satlslled and fault-finding ones. He also had a word against the talkative superintendent, who tries to explain eveiytliing, who was self-conceited, and was not ready to adopt any new I Ideas unless tliev emanated from his own bi.iin. and he concluded by giving .l nlcture of the successful one. who. I he said, was a helpful superintendent, who never felt that his woik was done, one who tiles to have the teach-( eis have the best lessons and the scholars to have tho best teachers. He cm outages scholars and teacheis and Is eve- on the vvntch for new and Im proved methods looking, for something to improve the school at all times. Is le.uly to take suggestions and not easily IIcouraged. The speaker ad vocated the foim.itlon of a cabinet of teachers who should meet once a month. One of the best things ot the conven tion was the nddiesa of Mrs. Barnes on the "Intermediate class and Its Woik." She lefeued to chlldieu be tween S and l eais of age, which, she said, was the age of Ideals and hero worship, it was nlso the memory and Investigation age. She thought this the most easy age to turn the inves tigating instincts of children into the channels of Biblical learning. She said It was also the habit of making age and said the chlldten should be lnstiucted in the habit of church-going, daily Bible reading and Bible study. She advocated a separate loom between tha primary and senior rooms and said wherever possible this should he adopted. Her lemaiks wero most Intel ostlng and Impiesslve.
