'.Tfca -on-way and round trip tickets trill fee supplied to all agent, and are, an excess of uric in the blood, as stated above, to be used, when an agent runs out of simplex tickets, for exclusion business where special ex cursion tickets are not furnished; and both forms of book tickets have a blank line, the same as the simples tickets, whereby same can be more closely limited In using limited rates or under special instructions from this department. It Is the intention of this company, as soon as all agents can be fully sup plied with the new forms of simplex and stundaid card and book tickets, that same will be limited to one day from date of sale, and the stop-over privilege rescinded: but until Instruc tions are given to this effect the pro visions) of the new tickets with refer ence to time limit and htop-over priv ileges will be Ignored, and the sairw privileges granted on such tickets as aio at present granted on similar tickets of like character and form, with the one exception that the round trip card and book tickets usad for regular lound-tilp rates will only Iw good as pi luted, viz: going, one day from date of s-ale, and returning "0 days from date of sale, as indicated by stamp on back. Agents, upon receipt of this circular, will please, send lo this department a complete Inventory of all local card, book and special tickets of all form used for local business now on hand, so that when new supply of tickets H furiiNhed Instructions can be given to return such of the old forms of lo cal tickets as may be desired. Conductors will please observe the above Instructions to ticket agents governing tlm new standard forms of one-way and round-trip book nnd card tickets, and until further Instructions are given will Ignore the printed clauses on such tickets limiting the tickets to one day from date of sale in the caso of one-way card ir book tickets, same ah is done now with the simplex tickets. When however same are limited Ir. Ink In the blank space provided for that purpose, then tho tickets will only be honored In con formity with such written limitation. The round-tilp tickets, however, both card and book form, will only bo honored In conformity with their present provisions, viz: good going one day from dato of sale, and good re turning "0 days from date of sale. Local members of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen have received notice that the grand lodge? will issue and have go Into effect on March 1. a neat form of official receipt for dues of members and hereatfer no other form will bo recognized. Receipts for March dues will bo Issued on tho pres ent forms. Traveling cards for tho year 1900 will not be valid unless the number of tho Issuing lodge will punch all cards before It sends them to sub ordinate lodges. In tho forthcoming report tho grand secretary treasurer or the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen will wy that $007,092.60 was paid out In claims dur ing the past year. This Is an increase of almost $100,000 over tho year 1S9S. He will also say: The membership now numbers 37,000, representing a, not gain of 6,000 for the year, and tha bank account of tho Brotherhood Is the best It ever possessed. Iteese, of Iowa, ns he Is to retire. Iteese and T. L. Lewis, of Ohio, remain In thu field for vice president, with D. Van Horn, of Indiana, dropping out. Many amendments were made to the consti tution. One to decrease the represen tation nt conventions was killed. An other which provided that district and state organizations should have a voice In selecting national organizers to be appointed by the president wns voted doyn. Tho constitution as amended gives President Mitchell greater power. An amendment was passed to Increase salaries of officers as follows: President, from $1,20I to $1,500: secretary-treasurer, from $1,000 to $1,300; vice-president, from $900 to $1,200; edi tors of the Mine Workers' Journal, from $3 per day to $1,200 per year; national board members, from $2. HO per day to $.1. The officers also have all expenses paid. The scale committee Is still at work. Its report will prob ably bo sent to the operators tonight or tomorrow. The Joint conference of operators and miners will probably open at 9 a. m. tomorrow. Many of the operators are already In the city. Today the Illi nois, Ohio and Indiana associations held meetings. They oppose a big ad vance; Illinois wants the wage scale reduced to that of Indiana. Ohio oper ators favor an advance, but not over 10 cents. J. Smith Tally, of Torre Haute, tho president of tho Indiana Hltumlnous Operators' association, says he will decline to preside over the conference. TROUBLE ON THE WABASH. St, Louis, Jan. 22. Heads of the dif ferent trainmen's organizations, which have been In session for several days considering the gilevances of employes of the Wabash railroad, are still watt ing for an answer to their request for a conference with President Ashley of that road. General Manager Hamsay, of tho Wabash, today declared that the de mands of Chief Arthur, of the Brother hood of Locomotive Engineers, and the chiefs of tho other bodies, who, he says, are endeavoring to force the pending issues, are not aimed solely at the Wabash rallioad. "It Is proposed," he said, "to use our road as a stalking horo tn secure con cessions wanted from other railroads. "The question of higher wages was submitted to me by a committee con sisting of several employes, some time ago.
