Susquehanna, Dec. 11. John C. Kane, one of Susquehanna's most prominent and pouplnr business men, filed on Sunday aftornooti at his home on Went Main stieet, after a brief Ill ness from a disease of the stomach. Deceased was bom In St. Josephs, this county, and In parly life came to Sus quehanna and engaged very success fully In the grocery business, after ward encaging In the dry goods busi ness. Two years ago his health became Im paired and he took a vacation, spend ing It In a Scianton sanitarium, with resulting improvement. Upturning to his business but a few months ngo, his health again failed iilm and ho was closing up uls business when death came. Ho Is sutvlved by the widow, who was formerly Miss Uachnel Boyle, of New Mllfoid. He was a public spirited citizen and a companlonnbl' man, and Ills untimely death will bo sincerely mourned by a very wide cir cle of friends.
