Mr. Hunna was directed at a recent meeting of the Indianapolis executive committee to urge the adop. tlon ot the entire programme of tin monetary commission, but If this does not appear possible, to accept modifi cations not Inconsistent with the prin ciples of the bill. These principles relate to the enactment of the gold standard Into law, the protection of tho treasury against gold raids by means of a more definite and greater provision for greenbacks and the adoption of an adequate und flexible currency for the luture needs of tho expanded republic. The Industrial spe cialties were very strong today and tho rising tendency, particularly after the uppenranco of the bank statement, ex tended throughout tho list with the cpnl eis prominent In tho market's lata strength. .Money continued easy and tho bank statement, with an liiccrnso of nearly Tour and one-half million dollars In surplus rcueive und nearly three mil lion dollnrs In cash, and a contraction of over ten million dollars In loans, had a very stimulating efrect. Large realizing, however, was noted by speculators who hud bought In expectation of a favorable statement. The favorable turn of tho Sainoan diflleulty nnd tho weekly state ments of trado which noted a general condition of prosperity wcro factors in re-arousing confidence. Totnl sales wero 513,400 shares. Ily CarrhiKton & Cutock. New York, April 15. The market dur ing tho past week has been almost a com-lili-to reversal of that of a week ago, nnd tho stocks which wcro particularly weak at tho close Inst Saturday have all re covered their losses and In some cases are selling higher than they did previ ously. To nny, but a most prejudicial ob server. It must be evident that their whole tendency of speculation Is towards higher prices and that, while there may be sharp tluirle., the market In tho end will reach higher prices all along the line. It has always been the experience that wheat, whin It looks the worst, Is at Its worst, and that the spring Improvement will como very sharply. Crop damngo re. ports nro always exaggerated and tho condition warrants the belief that from row on wo shall havo on Improvement rather than n decline. General buyers throughout the country still continues large, the clearance being of a record character. There can be no question as to higher prices this spring and well throughout the year, and pur chases on any decllno nro sure to show largo prollts. Today's market opened strong with re newed advances In Brooklyn Rapid Trnn sit. Consolidated Tobacco and Manhat tan. Colorado Fuel, which wo advised you day before yesterday was good for ten points ndvance within the week, sold nt 15 today, a gain cf 0'4 points slnco Thursday. The bank statement was un expectedly tavorable and was followed by some further advance In prices, tho closo being stiong.
