Huff, of Grecnsburg, to Charles Tubbs, of Osceola, Tioga coun ty, nt today's Joint session for United States senator. Mr. Tubbs was a member of tho house In the sessions of 1881-83 and was one of the leaders of the Inde pendent Republicans In tho memor able senatorial contest In 1881. He was endorsed for senator over Colonel Quay by popular vote last summer at the Tioga Republican ptlmarles and was oted for by the two members from his district until the "Insur gents" decided to drop the "f.ivoilte son" candidates and concentt.ite nil their votes on one man. Mr. Tubbs Is a lawyer and owns some of tho finest farms In the state. The two Tioga representatives. Smith and Young, voted for him and their tolleague, Senator Merrick voted for Senator Quay as usual.
