Beeves and his company of Black Cyclones nnd White Whirlwinds gave a decidedly "hot stuff" performance at tho Gaiety theatre yesterday to large audiences, afternoon and evening, and the fun was fast nnd furious from be ginning to end. The company contains some of the original members who as sisted in establishing a drawing repu tation for the troupe upon their first appearance in Scranton two or three years ago and many new artists of more than average ability. Although with the exception of the Hawaiian chorus in the closing bur lesque, the musical features are scarce ly up to entertainments given by the company on former visits, the specialty acts were upon the whole much better. The sketch given by Barton and Ash ley was one of the best over seen on the Gaiety stage: Mitchell and Jess, the comedians, and Misses Bernard and Bennett, vocalists, were excellent, and Fannie Fern Thatcher and Al, Beeves were as entertaining ns ever.
