Xow In the parlor meet the pair When the golden day Is done; Two forms with but one locking chair, Two hearts that beat as one. In Montrose when a man becomes prominent, in local polities they bang him. This seems to be a very good Idea. Kvery rose has Its thorn. Even the luscious raw oyster has little pickers of raw shell In him. Every candidate Is now standing head nnd shoulders above every other candidate. There are some oeople so afraid they will be fooled that they refuse to believe the truth. That's cau tion overdone. ODDS AND ENDS. The poor board of Forest Cltv has under consideration the establishing of a poor farm for the care of indigent residents. Forest City New. It ought to be an easy matter to secure such a farm. There is a lot of mighty poor farms up that way, A Unlomluk writer says thero Is pure water for the proposed trotting course. That will be nice for the horses. The men want something else for manu facturing purposes! "Did you do nothing to resuscitate tlu body?" was asked of a witness at a coroner's Inquest In Itlnghamton. Hell Is paved with good tntentlonse. All are Invited. Seats free." A DOG'S FORESIGHT. Farmer Houghton, of the Cascade, has a dog with a remarkable appe tite. The other day Mrs. Houghton made a few small cheeses and set them In a cool room. A few hours later tho cheeses were nowhere to be found. The dog had a tjuilty expression In his tace, and It was believed he had stolen them. The cook vowed she had not seen the doff near them, and that If he had attempted to steal them ho would have attracted attention. The disappearance of the cheeses remained a mystery for several days, when the mistress of the homo was one after noon attracted to tho yard by tho barking of the dog, nnd on going to the side door she saw the dog pull out from under a pile of rubbish one of the miss ing cheeses. He then proceeded to eat the cheese with undisguised gusto. The remarkable part of It was that the had aufflclent sagacity to store the cheeses away and partake of one of them each day, Instead of munching at them all at one Bitting, as most dogs and probably all children would do Ills love for cheese Is accounted for J J wonderful remedy Jj lor lung trouble, ctvei COHffll SvrilD f.ouRh'n?. iu'y"ub -, 9 ...., cvvu vutvu tuic rriccasc NO FAITH CU11E. Ill which Delia Fox this season reappears as an individual star, will not increase her fame to any measurable extent, but it furnishes one consoling fact. Miss Fox Is content to allow others to assist her in giving tile evening's performance. It is well that t-Io decs. She is still chic and can wear men's clothes as men do, an accomplishment few actresses have mustered, but, til.it, her voice does not improve. it Is still seamed and ragged, and If her vocal efforts are not c.vieily tortur ing, neither ere they exactly musical.
