One of Tucker Ss Maxey's horses, at tached to a delivery wagon, took fright when turning the corner from Main street to Salem nvenm yesterday af ternoon shortly after 4 o'clock, nnd made a dash down Salem avenue. The driver, a. young man named Daniel Thomas, was unable to get the animal under control. Many pedestrians, among them numerous school children, were on the street, and It Is a wonder that some one was not seriously hurt. The horse ran until It came to the curve at Dundaff street, when the ve hicle struck a dray wagon which was coming around the corner. The ffellv ery wagon was turned over and the driver tipped out, but he fortunately escaped Injury. The horse was lifted to Its feet and ipemert none tho worse for Its spurt. ..'he wagon was not damaged to any extent, neither was the dray Into vhlch tt collided. Tho driver was thoroughly scared and bruited a bit, but considers himself fortunate in com ing out of the collision ns luckily nrf he did. A FAREWELL PARTY. A farewell party was tendered D. C.
