DEATH OF 0E0RQE BISHOP. Well Known Itesidciit Passed Away Ycslortliiy Morning. Cleorge Bishop, of South Main street, one of the best known residents of Carbondale, died early yesterday morn ing. Mr. Bishop was burn In liermany about fifty-live years ago. He came to this country with his parents when but a lud and settled In Archbald. He was at that time about seven years of age. He resided in Archbald until he moved to Carbondale, about nineteen years ago. Since that time he has lived in Main street, where for years he was engaged in the plumbing and tinning business. In connection with this he manufactured a mine lamp on which he and his brother held a patent. During his residence In this city Mr. Bishop made many friends. He was a whole-souled, Jovial companion and was liked by all his acquaintances. For the past two years Mr. Bishop's health has been bad; and for several months he has been confined to his bed. During his last weeks he suffered agonies and for several days has been practically unconscious. Death wa.s a. relief to his sufferings. The Immediate survivors are his wife, four daughters and two sons, as follows: Mrs. Marshall Kellnr, of Scranton: Henry, Edward, (.race, Louise, Florence. The funeral will be held Saturday af ternoon at 2 o'clock. Itev. Father Ehlnger, of St. Paul's Lutheran church, will conduct the services at the house. Interment will be made in Archbald.
