HARMONV PREVAILED.
Ccmmon Conncil Puts on Finishing
Touches Without n Hitch.
There was Just a quorum present at
last night's council meeting. In the
absence of Chairman Bate, Mr. Brink
presided. The following ordinances
passed final reading and are now ready
for the mayor's signature: Establish
ing grade on South Main street a.id
Eightha'venue; providing for sewer on
Sprlng'street and Seventh avenue and
fixing appropriations for the coming
fiscal year.
The remarkable thing about this
meeting is, that while the usual squab
ble which 'accompanies the finishing
work of the1 year was expected, every
thing passed as harmoniously as the
common chord. Even tho appropria
tion ordinance went through un
touched. As things stand now only
one more meeting of each branch will
be necessary.
