A small dwelling house owned and occu
pied by ThomaB Murphy, of Itock Ter
race, was burned to the ground yesterday
morning. Tho alarm wus given nt 9.30
o'clock and tho hose company was soon
on tho scene. Tho fire Jiad gained such
headway, however, that it was Impossi
ble to savo the building and It, with Its
contents, was destroyed Mr. Murphy
was at work when tlm lire started. He
had bought the house only a few months
