of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Ferrcl, fell
from a back stoop while nt play on
Saturday evening nnd broke his arm
and suffered from a dislocated elbow.
Dr. D. I... Bailey was called and Is at
tending the case.
While at work on Sunday In the Erie
yard, Anthony Cook, of Brooklyn
street, met with a painful Injury. His
foot was oaught between the rail nnd a
turn-taulo so that the bones ot tho
foot and nnMo were bruised and seri
ously injured. On Sunday evening Al
berta, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John llavtP, about 10 years of age, fell
nnd liroko her arm. Dr. J. S. Nlles was
called and attended to the broken limb.
Ward West, a hoy of About 11 years of
age', was seriously injured yesterday
by falling from a coal wagon. Ho was
thrown upon the pavement nnd for
some time was unconscious. The case
seemed Quito serious but under tho
care of Drs. Kelly and Gillls, ho is now
doing well.
WATER IN A MINE.
When the miners of No. 1 slono en
tered the mine on Snturduy morning
they found a torr?nt ot water sweeping
with great force down the main gang
way. The inn in road was choked and
impassable. It appears that tho men
had been working, near nn old cave
that was filled with water. The wall
of coal had given way so that the wat
er rushed In. The accident fortunate
ly occurred In the night so that there
were no Injuries to tho miners. A
large force of men are at work Rotting
the mine again In a good condition.

Ariel yesterday was ono of tho largest
ever run from this town. Numerous

Mr. Daniels Is ono of tho pleasantest

BREWERY WAS NOT SOLD.
It had been stated that a syndicate
had purchased from Peter Krantz &
Sons the Carbondale brewery. There
Is no truth In the rumor which an
nounced the sale, the price given be
ing, it was raid, $123,000. Mr. Krantz
declared that there was no thought of
selling. A large four story brick build
ing will shortly ba erected. The pres
ent cajwclty of the brewery Is now be
tween 25,000 and 30,000 barrels a year.
