L. C. llessler, foreman. REC ISN'T 1M 1 HOVKNTS. To the Honorable the Judges or the Court of ijuaiter Sessions of Lackawanna County. After a thorough Inspection of the re cent Improvements to the court house, wo believe that the woik and the manner In whlih It has been done warrants us hi commending- most highly the action of the county commissioners. The necessity of these Improvements Is well known to all who have business at the court house. The Increase in population and the cor responding Increase in court work made It necessary to provide larger and mole commodious accommodations for court, amies and public olllees. The work 1ms been done In u manner most satlsluctory, and will result in expediting court work. The additional court room lor the use ol Hie Superior court Is, beyond doubt, "lie of tho llnest court rooms In the Plate. Court rooms one and two have b( en remodeled and lurnishcd In n man ner which is In keeping with Lackawanna county. The new quarters of the district attor ney enable that elllclent otilcer to pertorm his duties with more facility and satis faction to those having business In that otllce. The new Jury rooms arc well adapted f i.i- the piirposo which they tire Intended, and will provide greater comfort to those who are to servo as jurors. The lava toiies and system of sanitation through out thu building are of the latest design, and are a great improvement upon the old system. In fact all the Improvements give evidence of careful niniiageiiint, and indicate that the commissioners have ex pended tho money of the taxpayers of tuls county most judiciously and to the best Interests of the people. We recommend that Hie county com missioners fchall construct a retaining wall at the county jail, fronting on Wash ington avenue. We also recommend that i a lireproor safe be placed In the otllce ot the Jail, for the safe-keeping of records and other valuables. We also recommend that a clothes press, with lock and key, be placed In the Jail. We recommend that the county com missioners place a telephone In the dls t'iet attorney's otllce. Wo understand that this has been recommended by a number of grand juries. Wo und this to be ti necessity in order to accommodate I lie business men of our city and others having business at tho district attorney's othep. We also recommend the county commis sioners to place new linoleum on the lluor r.f the district attorney's otllce, as the (.sent linoleum, taken Pom the libra- The measure ments of deatit area few inches of trivial dis orders, multi jplied by many feet of neglect.
