It will be remembered that the lamented Major fell In battle on the 30th instant, In front of At the time of the breaking out of the rebellion the deceased was engaged In agricultural pursuits in Texas. He was not allowed to come Sorto ex cept on parole. This restriction prevented him en tering the service until two yoarß after he reached this city. He rendered valuable service, however, during these two years to the Union Usage in. this .oily, In connection with its publication committee. He was .exchanged about a year ago,[and Immedi ately entered the service as adjutant of the 198th Beglment P. V>, then under Colonel Sickles. Auburne Irvin, a member of ton colored regi ment encamped at Ghelten Hills, was arraigned at toe Central Station yesterday afternoon on toe charge or firing a pistol off near Sixth and Chestnut streets, toe hall from which struck a tod on the foot, bnt fortunately Inflicted no injury.
