We are thankful for the liberal support we have received, and believe the expending of no similar sum has added so znueh to the comfort of our soldiers; in addition to which we have been compelled by circumstances fo assume temporary care of thousands of refugees, freed mes, and rebel deserters, nearly all of whom would have been forced to seek charity at your doors, and, domiciled in the lowest haunts of the city, would have** caused much annoyance and disturbance. They have remained with us generally but a few days, and places have been found for them away from the city, where their It bor was in great request The arrangements for the care of the soldiers in our city have added largely to our reputation for hospitality and brotherly love, and to continue the good work the necessary means must be furnished. The fee simple title to the PRIOR FARM, a tract of one hundred acres on Ten-Mile -Creek, four miles from its mouth, and about seventy from Pittsburg, with which there is daily steamboat communication from the mouth of the creek • on the Monoagahela river. There is ample boring ground on the creek, and on three runs, one of which borders the land half a mile. Excellent indications within a hundred yards of this lease have been discovered. 4 A lease of one and a quarter acres on the MAPLE FaRH, on Dnnhard Creek, some two or three hundred yards from the celebrated Wylie Well, the first pump ing well found on the creek, yielding forty barrels per day; thtre are also the St. Clair and Pioneer WeUs, three wells at the depth of 600 feet, and all producing a supply of oil.
