CITIZENS' VOLUNTEER HOSPITAL AssOClA
vtoN.--Anotber loyal and patriotic enterprise has just
been started, and is fast progressing toward completion,
the object of which is to afford temporary relief to the
many sick and wounded citizen - soldiers that are con
tinually arriving from tho field of battle, and as our
general hospitals are filled to their utmost capacity, it
has been deemed advisable, after a full consultation with
the army surgeons, to have the present building com

Broad and Prime streets, where a largo number of sick
and wounded have been and still are continually ar

our citizens are aware, without a place to rest their sick
bodies and wounded limbs. It was bat a few nights
since that the three churches in the neighborhood had
to be thrown open to offer a plat* of temporary shelter
to these brave defenders of our country's rights.

UNIFORMS FOR, SOLDIERS.—W hiIe OUT Citi
zen-soldiers are hurrying forward to the defeike . of thi
city and Slate, it is a great satisfaction that they gene
rally go well clothed and equipped. This is one of the
great advantages resulting from fitting out voliiiteep in
a city like Philadelphia, where the Brown Stone ;Nothing_
Hail of Rocklin+ & Wilson, Nos. 603 and 606 Chestnut'
street, above Sixth, is located. This firm turns out the
best, the most elegant, and the most comfortaole uniforms
that are made anywhere, and the immenee patronage
bestowed upon it gives evidence of the public appreciation
of the fact.
COURAGE.—Mere physical insensibility to
danger does not constitute courage. Nearly all brave
men have been finely organized, and therefore of nervou s
temperament. Crew was tervous so was Nelson. The
Duke of Wellington saw a man turn pale as he marched
up to a battery. a That," said be, 16 is a brave man
be knows his danger, but faces it." Bad such men been
living in times like these, they would, without doubt,
have worn the handsome uniforms manufactured at the
Military Clothing Establlahmeut of Granville Stokes, No.
609 Chestnut street, where garments of every descriptim
are cold at exceedirgly low rates
