vtoN.--Anotber loyal and patriotic enterprise has just
been started, and is fast progressing toward completion,
the object of which is to afford temporary relief to the
many sick and wounded citizen - soldiers that are con
tinually arriving from tho field of battle, and as our
general hospitals are filled to their utmost capacity, it
has been deemed advisable, after a full consultation with
the army surgeons, to have the present building com
pleted at once, and be prepared to minister to the wants
of the entortunate.

The building Is to be located at the southeast corner of
Broad and Prime streets, where a largo number of sick
and wounded have been and still are continually ar
riving from the late scenes of action, and as many of
our citizens are aware, without a place to rest their sick
bodies and wounded limbs. It was bat a few nights
since that the three churches in the neighborhood had
to be thrown open to offer a plat* of temporary shelter
to these brave defenders of our country's rights.
Philadelphians; shall it be soy Shall your sons and
brothers arrive here without a place to shelter them
from the storm ? No l the duty we owe our country
toys no ; the philanthropy and benevolence of our citi
zens say no, and the many honorable mechanics, la
borers, and others, who are constructing the building,
have shown by their daily labor, given without com
pensation, that they mean no.
Our worthy townsman, Josiah Randall, Meg, the
owner of the lot, has freely offered it to be need for this
noble purpose.
