The early Western buyers have mostly completed their first 3>nrcba6es, but still ibe number of buyers from the West Is quite large, and business with that section is likely continue good throughout the season. The near-by and city trade have been purchasing liberally, which adds gieatly to the animation of the market. The confident a*nd buoyaut turn noticed in our last review still con tinues, And the merchants seem very well satisfied with tmsiness thUB far in the season, and bdieve that the prospect before them is briabt. There tt* now a growing confidence that the final blows at the rebellion are about to be struck, and that the rough work the cam paign will soon be over, which must open avenues of trade that have long been shut up. Some descriptions of domestic fabrics have suffered a little from the tem porary of the demaud, but there is no general disposition to press goods upon the market at present. Brown drills have sold to some extent tor export at 14; there have also been some lots picked up at 13#» but holders are not generally willing to sell at this rate. Biu* drills »re pontfna! at 17. There has been ft moderate business done in sbiitings; salts of heavy brown sheet ings have been mate at 14&14#, but the ioßide price is the regular asking rate. Light sheetings are quoted at 32#, and heavy shininga also at 12Jf. Bleached Sheet ings and shirtings of stanaani marks have moved a little more freely, and nearly all pareids offering the regular rates have been taken. Colored cotton? have •undergone no material change, aud remain very much iu Ihe same position. Launa are seding at full rates, Qjgg- Lams are moving off moderntely. Moass noe de Uiues are In small stock, aud ihebusiuees from first bauds has consequently been light. Flannels are in demand, espe cially fine qualities ol blue and white. Fancy cassimeres of new and desirable spring styles are in active reimest, and sell about as fast ab they are produced. Satiuets jnove off mere freely, and prices are firmer. Tweeds are in demand. Army woollens are dull and declining Ken tucky jeans are iu moderate request at a slight con cession. The bueinefs in foreign yoorta has been sdoh what re stricted at private sale, while there has been legs stock of fered IhpoUgh the ati‘-tlori rooms. Ribbons and xmlliue ty goods have improved, and the sales have generally fcmi at advanced prices, specially for desirable styles of ribbons. Dreis silks are doing better, particularly blacks. Broche shawls are dull, and selling extremely low at *>re- Bent. Good styles of Stella and troche stripes hwro doue vory well. British dress goods have been sold cotnparu iively low. Bareges hare been more inquired for. There sire several large salts of dress gwds announced for to day and to-morrow, which will probably induce more animation and activity in the trade. Hulburt A Brodiiead-'s Oils.—Tlie fact is rapidly becoming known that the beat Lubricatin' and illuminating Coal oils that come to Philadepbla are those of Messrs. Bulburt & Brodbead, No. 240 Arch street. These oils have, to our own knowledge, been subjected to the most rigid teste, and found to be equal in safety*as an «illuminator, 77 to a tttllowcandle! Ohaapet*, according to their burning properties, than any other by at least twenty-five per cent., and no less superior as a “ Lubricator.** The large companies for which this house has the exclusive agency, have hit npoo the capital idea Of I hipping ft lftPg& qiifthtlty of their oils la Jlve-gaNon metallic cans, with spiggors accompanying each one, which is easily attached. Four of these cubical cans are placed in one box for shipment. It will be seen at a glance that this cubical arrangement is exceedingly convenient either for shipping or for consumption, and the advan tages of metal over wooden vessels is apparent at once. A considerable portion of the Oils now being sold by this firm are being put up in this way, and their customers are delighted with the arrangement, Itisnot difficult to foresee that Messrs. Hulburt ft Brodhead are to be the leading Goal-oil house in this city. Elegant _ Hams and Dried Meats.—Tho season is now at hand when ham and other cured meats are particularly seasonable, Those of Mr. G. H.
