'/ hie was emphatically true of the subject of this no
tice, and the writer feels it doe to the memory of his
departed friend to beer .his feeble tribute of respect to
one so suddenly taken 'awes from this vale of tears to
the reward of the blessed in }leaven. Meroy Ann
Sweeney was born in Ohio. the 2 fth day of September,
1832, was married to her present bereaved and afflicted
husband in the year 1880, and resided in Towanda, Fa.,
from Mtn, till January ' 3861 . when the family removed
to this pity . where. after but a few days' siokness, she
pained away on the Sid of February to that bourne
whence no traveler returns t lite frequently express
ed the conviction that she should not recover, said on
ddlerent occasions solicited the prayers of her friends
in her behalf. Her attachment to and interest in her af
flicted partneran life and only child was manifest. Her
great anxiety was .o have her child, properly trained.
In the full bloom of womanhood, with every velment
of a long life. she has beentaken from our midst, and
with profound reverence we must say in this case:
