The article has; attracted particular auen

AN EXCELLENT INVENTION.
OE=
A VERY useful invention, for Mi.' purpose of pre-
Ilse:Vine life from drowning, and always having
the means ready at hand to do so, in 3lie event of
danger while !ravelling on board steamboats or oth
er water conve . Yances, has been introduced by Thorn
ley to the nubile. It is a water.proof coat, which
may he worn at any time, to protect the clothes from
rain or dust. In the waist of the'coat is permanent
ly fastetimi an air-tight tithe, made exactly like the
ordinary life-preserver. The advantage is in having
the life-preserver always ready to be lidlateil. a work
of a few - seconds only, and having a comfortable
travelling-coat adapted to all the necessities and con
veniences for travelling. Ladies' and children's
travelling sacks could be made in the same manner,
and thus every individual have the means of pre
serVing tire. Such an invention. for its value and
uaefulnass, should be a fortune to the inventor.—
