PARTY ORGANIZATION. , Nothing is so important to the success of any party is the firm ai ktrence to its organizaticM.— Unless this is done, defeat, in consequence, must be the result. When nominations are presented to the Whig party by a respectable Convention, [it beek[Mes the Whigs, one end all, not thinking of former preferences, to throw aside all former [predilections, and go' in for those who are present ed to them asthe representatives of their princi ples, at the same time being , •honest, capable and faithful." Under such circumstances, if there is anything we deprecate in the strongest terms, it is scratching the ticket for the benefit of some Le.' cofoco whose claims !ittnot'be stronger, and whose qualifications cannot; ; bs superior to those of his opponent, as is made manifest in the late election. Such a course, we repeat, cannot be to strongly condemned, and any Whig who will so far forsake his principles, as thus to • proceed, is doing all he can to break down, the party. If anything_ were to bevgained by Whigs, thun. much objection for Lo corneas, there would not be so uch objection ; but Locofocos, s a iler - all circumstances, and no matter how often the Whigs may have gone for Locofocos, will adhere to their nominations, and forsakoall for the principles of the party. , ' A ease like this is apparent in the late election in thin Borough. Captain Nagle and Lieutenant KaerchUithe former a Whig, who ran for the office of Sheriff, and the latter the Locofeco candidate for county Treasurer, two worthy young men, were' before the people for office. The Whigs, in their liberality, voted for Mr. ffarrctier, end succeeded in electing him. Acting thus liberally towards a political opponent; at a time too • when we had a most excellentt, candidate in the field , the Whigs t .care' .:;:y and Anprudently, sacrificed principles for men. II ut the L . /CO(0[03. acted differently, and Captain Nagle, who was as much entitled to Locofoco votes, as Kurcher to Whig .votes, did not receive o LoccifOco vote upon that score. This will serve to exhibit the folly of theAVhigs; while, the Locofocris, deferinined to stand by, their men, elected some with W/zig notes. We give this cue assn ilius vration, and' ask Me i Whigs' in all seriousness, whetherithey r wilf hereafter pursue a course whicii must go far towards lneaking down the Whig party in Schuylkill. •, Such a revisit shOuld hereafter be avoided, and it caucasily be' done, if the Whigs, es they should do, unlirealere to the nominations of the party. We ore a: 6 %meg, disposed to be liberal in politics ; but 'sever fo oar own disadvantage—never to our own dertruetion ; and in no case, while a drop of Whig blood courses our veins, would we vote any other but a Whig nominee. It is the only Mode of up holding the party ; pursue en opposite course, votefor a portion of the Locoroco ticket, while our nominees combine qualifications and popularity, ,you will hasten the dOwn-fall the Whig party, and bring the reproach of every honest Whig in the Union upon you. :Never let it again be said. that Locofocos have been elected in this county by Whig votes. As you value the principles of r the Whig party, eioid such a result.
