Queers, May 8, 1837. EAR SIR, n article called Dr. Hewes -Nerve and Bone Liniment," came to my knowledge a bout two months since, through our friend Mr. camp bell. and I procured a bottle and h.id used it for about a week without airy, material clianguittil one morn ing I found nivjelf under the exercise of very uncom mon feelings. imagining that could I be helped up I 'could stand and walk, I requested my family to aid loc i bunhey were unwilling I should trust myself on me 'er-t, not hiving for the last f;.rirteen arid a half years ever even made the attempt to stand: but my confirteriee was so great that they consented to assist nie from my bed. I found I could use my legs with apparent ease, but could not hear me weight on my feet. With support, however, I could place one foot before the other with a facility that astonished me and all around me. They led me twice across the . room ; I sat down with feelings of happiness that never before experienced; the idea w,s that I was once again to be restored to the world ran through my fraine'like an electric shock. My family surroun ded me in tears of joy, and the excitement -so com pletely overcome me that I fainted:. The same day I walked three time across the 11 ior, again bearing a little weight at each time on my feet. I then used crutches for a few days, when my strength hail become so far re-established, that I could cross the floor without the least aid. My advancement from this time has been almost incredible. I can walk two hundred yards and back with ease, - and my chit. dren, ( the bed-rid are often blessed, like me. with near a dozen, ) have been . so overjoyed that they could scarcely cat or sleep, and Mrs. Corning gee am to feel half a score of years younger hci•self. You o ill me- , ollect how much bent together I was when you were last here. I have entirely overcome this. If I look ed as odd as I felt when I began to walk, I would have been gazed at in astonishment. I have seen ma ny Of my old acquaintances, some of whom did not knoiv me at all, ancio, hers would scarcely credit their senses, and would hardly have been more astonished, though one had " risen from the dead." I have now every confidence that I'am a well man. I think this article.is the most extraordinary of any I ever heard of, and it' it is not extensively made known to the pub lic, I think the.proprietors are very culpable. By this mote, Coal can be delivered at any of the Eastern Ports at a much cheaper rate than by any other.. There arc a number of Vessels engaged in the Transportation of Merchandize to New York, which arc o'shged constantly to sail with only half Freight—these vessels can take in part of a load of Merchandise and fill up with Coat, which can he carried in this way at very low rates. By this transfer of the Coal business, which has heretofore been done from the Wharves, on the Schuylkill Rivir, jt is apparent that the price of Freight will not only be redo. ced, but the delays and dangers ofthe navigation from New York up the Schuylkill River, will be avoided.
