ODD FHLIOWS' REGALIA BALL —The ball to
be &ewer' the Nth inst., at Defeyette Hall, by
the members of Lodge No. 49, L 0. 0. F., will
undoubtedly bo a splendid bffsir. The oom
mendablo object in view—namely, the realize
tion of a fund for the relief of the widows and
orphans—anl:internal number of whom the Lodge
has to take care of—should induce every Odd
Fellow to attend who can possibly make it con
vettlent. By thus contributing to a fund de
signed for so worthy a purpose, the members of
the fraternity will show that their benevolence
is not all a boast, and that they feel, truly and
einoorely, for the widow and the fatherless.
In addition to the charitable purpose to be
sooomplished, the Ball will afford a pleasant
and agreeable place for a social commingling of
the wive, daughters and sweethearts of mem•
bers, an thus, by bringing them together,.oe

place for Divine worship, the outer depot of the
Central Railroadhaving been abandoned owing
to the inclemetioy of the weather. The Sabbat.

It is hoped the benevolent and charitable will
contribute largely to this noble enterprise.

locked, penetrated to Mr. Irvin's bed room and
seized his pantaloons, containing the amount of
money stolen, just as he was aroused by the
noise. Ho jumped up in bed, but the fellows
held on to the unmentionables, and carried them
down into the turbot, whore they rifled them cf

The painting is admirable, the scenes truthfully
depicted, and the lecture in French and English
highly edifying; with these inducements we do
not know how the trifling price of admission
could be more profitably invested. The moon
light view of the fleet in the Baltic, the storm

admission, setting aside the extremely effective
representation of a storm and shipwreck, iu
which the varied flashes of lightning and truth.

the fitful howling of the storm, form a toot en

Cot. ALDEN Is receiving lettere from those
who have purchased county rights, and are now
in their territory selling the Sheller to the ferm
ent, stating that they are meeting with the moat
unexpected success. This they attribute in part
to the liberal patronage they have given the
press in the county in which they operate. The
excellency of the machine is acknowledged by
nearly all who see it in operation ; but the at
tention of all can only bo called to it by giving
wide publicity to the facts in the case. A few
dollars expended in advertisements and notices
will do more to bring this great implement into
notice than any thing else that can possibly be
done. When it le once seen, it rises at once in
the esteem of every judge of machinery
far above
everything that has been constructed for the
purpose. Those purchasers have gone in all
dirootions, and are in high spirits in regard to
the rapid sales and handsome profits they ex
pect to make ae Boon as they can get a supply
of the machines equal to the great demand all
over the contrtry.
