Circds.— This cxodlent equestrian establishment, whioh combines a bet ter variety and quality of talent than any Cir ons traveling, will exhibit in our oily on Tues day, the first of May. The manager, Mr. James Taylor, has beon engaged during the past win ter, Becuring the beet performers to be bad, and has organised a Cirons aid Dramatic Corps not to be equalled. The pavilion, paraphernalia, ' &C-, are entirely new, and both this country and Europe have beon gleaned to proonro artistes of established reputations. Among those thus en gaged is Mr. Charlos Walters, the celebrated baro-baokcd rider, whose feats of equestrianism astonish every one; Mons. Burjri, the great hurdle racer, noted throughout Europe, and the famous Sicilian Brothers, whoso performance on the Tolaudio Ladder is the most surprising ever witnessed. The establishment, before opening here, will exhibit in several of tho towns adja cent. Behoved as a Nuisance.— The Allegheny Market Committee, on Thursday, entered a com plaint on tho Mayor’s book, against that elegant and chaste orator, Josoph Barker, Esq., for creating a nuisanCo in tho market house, by col lecting crowds once or twioo a week to hoar him speak.. Mayor Adams accordingly sent a couple of policemen in tho evening, while he was ha ranguing a crowd of noisy boys, to request him to removo to some other place. Joseph demur red somewhat at first, but finally consented, and adjourned into tho neighboring square, where be finished bis oration. We understand it is the intention of Mayor Adams to invito him to keep out of tho public squares hereafter. Body Found.— The body of a young lad named John Allen, son of Mr. Allen of the Eighth Ward, was found floating yesterday morning in the Monongabcla river, near Four Mile Bun. Tho ohild was drowned in February last, within half amileof whero the body was discovered. Search Was made at the time to recover it, but without avail, and it has remained in the water ever since. It was, of course, very mnoh decomposed. It was removed to town, to tho residence of hiß parents, on Stevenson street, whero an inquest was held by Aldorman.Major. . “Ma. Couldock’s. BESEFrr last night was a bumper—the house being filled from pit to dome. In thc ; ‘jWiUow:CopSß,” he was most excellently enpported by Miss Anna Eberle, as Rose Fielding. After tho first-.pieoe, Mr; C. .was loudly called for, when ho appeared and madii'S’brief speech, thanking tho public for the hospitable welcome they had extended towards him on each vißit to* Pittsburgh, ,vc., &e. To night, he appears for tho last timo here U 3 Snyloc’:, in Shakspoavo’s “Merchant of Venice.” " Ah Ordinance to Regulate tub Pbices or Back Drivers.—At a meeting of the Councils of Allegheuy city, held on Thursday night, on ordinance was passed, which declares it illegal for any lmckman, omnibna driver, or other dri vers of public vohicles, to chargo moro than 12} cents farb to any portion of tho city, under a penalty of $lO. The ordinance also requires them to post up in their hocks, &c., a list of their fares. Heavy Storm. —Yesterday, between ten and eleven o’clock, this city and vicinity was visited "with a very severe storm of wind and rain. Tho <4 blow n lasted for aboat half an hour, and caused considerable destruction to property. In Manchester, a large three story frame building, in process of erection by Messrs. I. & A. Patter son, was blown to the ground. The workmen had just left tho bailding, thus probably saving their lives. We call attention to the card of S. M’Kee & Co., glass manufacturers, to bo found in another column. At this establishment may be found every variety of window glass, vials, flasks, &o. Particular attention is given to tho manufacture of telegraphic and lightning rod insulators. Wo believe this is the only house in tho city furnish ing insulators, and we direct attention as well os recommend the establishment to all. Cricket Club —The Olympic Cricket Ciub, of this city, mot on the cricket ground adjoining the residence of J. S. Craft, Esq , on Thursday last, and went into an election for officers, which resulted io the choice of Charles W. Rickertson, President, and George Jenkins, Secretary. W« hove seen tho testimony of persons well known to us, who have the compound thereby corroborating tho opinion of its restorative *ner gy. We know of nothin? moredesirablo jq the way of per*, eonal comelincKi and comfort than njgooi head of hair, and aii3 r procßAs by which this crowning ornament of the outer s tnan can be preserved, or recovered when lost, without, in the Intter carl*, a resort to Wigs, (Loupes and Scratches, de* foj-vcs to by bailed and embraced with gratitudo by all of either sex, who arc unlucky enough to need its benefit;. • Wo took occiudon (he other day to notlco this valuable compound in the üb<-vt< terms, and now republish what was then Sfiid, to show vgain our favorable opinion of it. The foregoing is taken from the Petersburg (Virginia) TntrUigencer , and refera to an article which has for a lime been udrerUsed In our columns. Wo must confess that wo have been somewhat cceptical as to tho remarkable effects attributed to this famous “Ilalr Restorer.” But our in credulity has been greatly shaken within a day or two by seeing a couple of certificates of well-known and perfectly credible citizens of the neighboring town of Preston—one of them the Captain of a New London whaling ship—to the effect that, in each of these esses, a two or three months’ use of the “ Restorer" had actually brought out a new and vigorous growth of hair upon the head whore It was before bold—the baldness being, in one case, of more than twenty years standing. Wh do not suppose it is by any means cer tain that, because tho application has been thus successful in one case, or two, or a dozen, it h therefore certain to prove equully successful in all. Bat with such htad-tlrong evidence as the foregoing, very few bald heads, we suspect, would willingly forego a f*ir trial of the “ Restorer.” All such “old heads” are Informed that the article can be had at Messrs. Lee k Osgood’s —Norwich Evening Courier.
